It’s the 2013 World Matchplay Final, and it’s an all-Stoke battle, and maybe not one that many were expecting. However, it’s the two form players looking back at the last couple of big tournaments. Adrian Lewis won the European Championship, Phil Taylor was successful in Gibraltar after winning the UK Open, so it’s two in-form players looking to take the World Matchplay title home. Adrian Lewis will be looking to add another major to his portfolio, being a two-time World Champion. Phil Taylor is just wanting to keep the trophy where he no doubt feels it belongs.

Semi-final time at the World Matchplay, and we’ve got the top four in the PDC competing against each other after a week of fantastic action.

Last night we had two amazing quarter-finals, with Andy Hamilton losing out in extra-time to Adrian Lewis. It was a great match with both men pushing each other to the limits. And then we saw Dave Chisnall give Michael van Gerwen a bit of a scare, before the Dutchman closed the match out.

The last two quarter-final matches take place tonight. We have a mouthwatering clash between Adrian Lewis and Andy Hamilton, as well as a battle of the power scorers as Michael van Gerwen takes on Dave Chisnall.

Last night was a night of unbelievable action. Phil Taylor was pushed hard for the second match in a row, this time by Justin Pipe. And then it looked like we were getting sudden death action, but in the end James Wade only needed 3 additional legs to dispatch Simon Whitlock 18-16 in an absolute classic.
