PDC UK Open 2013 Day One Free Darts Betting Tip

It’s the first of the PDC Majors this year, after a long hard slog through the Premier League Darts season. And, I have to be honest, I love the UK Open. It’s the chance for stars to be made, and it’s cliches galore on the Sky Sports coverage, as they trot out the old “FA Cup of Darts” references thick and fast. We’ve had some interesting finals over the years, and some interesting finalists. Roland Scholten made his name at the UK Open, Shayne Burgess did the same. Robert Thornton kickstarted his faltering PDC career in this tournament last year, and now one of the second tier players will no doubt be looking for the same fortune. This huge field is bursting with talent, and if they draw goes the right way for one of them, we could see a bit of an upset winner, especially with the short format over the first few rounds.

Obviously Michael van Gerwen has been unstoppable, winning everything in his path since the 2013 World Championship Final, and he’ll be coming in full of confidence, but if the draw isn’t kind, he might not get lucky, as he has had some tight matches over the short format over recent weeks. Then there’ Phil Taylor, and the same applies to him, minus the winning streak. The fact Taylor is coming into the tournament in the second round also speaks volumes about his season – he’s not played much in the floor tournaments, while his main competitors have. Maybe that will go against him, or maybe he’ll be match fresh. We’ll find out over the next few days. The usual suspects are also out in force – Raymond van Barneveld, James Wade, Adrian Lewis, Simon Whitlock and Andy Hamilton, along with two of the big guns from the BDO, Robbie Green and Stephen Bunting, a man who many were speculating would jump ship to the PDC in January.

As always, we’ll have the Premium Picks for the UK Open, and there’s a plethora of matches to make a killing on.

Premier League Darts 2013 Night Fourteen (Newcastle) Free Darts Betting Tip

It’s the last night of the regular Premier League Darts season and, well, there’s not much left to play for. Michael van Gerwen needs a point to guarantee top spot, and it looks like Raymond van Barneveld and Phil Taylor will take second and third, in whatever order you fancy. That just leaves four places, which three players can get. A win for James Wade over Phil Taylor, and Simon Whitlock would need a perfect night to get fourth place, and Thornton needing a win over Barney and MvG. Even a defeat for Wade could be enough to see him through, As Whitlock would still need 3 points, to climb above him, and Thornton would still need 1 point, with some massive leg differentials going in his favour, or two points, and the Scotsman doesn’t have an easy game.

The Free Darts Betting Tip is 5-8, with a loss of -6.1 units after Michael van Gerwen and Andy Hamilton couldn’t get a higher checkout than 106, which was a bit disappointing.

So we’re into the last night of regular season action, and it’s not been a classic Premier League Darts season, even with the new format, which I’m not a fan of. If you’ve enjoyed it, fair enough, but I think it’s had its day in the sun and it’s now just a cash cow for Hearne and Sky Sports. Anyway, another six matches tonight, starting with the definition of a dead rubber with Andy Hamilton taking on Adrian Lewis in a battle to save face. Robert Thornton are both on double duty tonight, and they square off next. Then Adrian Lewis takes to the stage for his second match of the night, this one against Simon Whitlock, who will be hoping for a big win. Phil Taylor takes on James Wade, then Robert Thornton makes a second appearance against Michael van Gerwen, with the Dutchman looking for a point to secure top spot. Finally, Simon Whitlock takes in Raymond van Barneveld, in a match that could decide fourth place.

Premier League Darts 2013 Night Thirteen (Liverpool) Free Darts Betting Tip

Three weeks of Premier League Darts left, one night in Liverpool, the traditional regular season finale in Newcastle and then the play-offs and final in London. And for all the pomp and ceremony around increasing the size of the field and adding promotion and relegation, they’ll have to go some over the last three weeks to convince me that expanding to 10 darts players in the Premier League was the right thing to do. But money talks, so I don’t think we’ll see a decrease in size any time soon.

The Free Darts Betting Tip is 5-7, with a loss of -3.1 units after Phil Taylor outscored Adrian Lewis on the maximums 3-2.

Tonight, in the penultimate night of the Premier League Darts regular season, the roadshow hits Liverpool. Only two players on double duty tonight – James Wade and Andy Hamilton. Hamilton needs a big night to keep himself in the hunt for a semi-final spot. And he starts the night against Michael van Gerwen, before finishing against Wade. Wade also plays Simon Whitlock tonight, and it’s a huge match for the Aussie, too, who is desperate for a win. Robert Thornton will look to continue his good form against Phil Taylor tonight and climb the league a bit more. And Raymond van Barneveld will look to consolidate his Top 4 place against the struggling and out of contention Adrian Lewis.

Premier League Darts 2013 Night Twelve (Birmingham) Free Darts Betting Tip

The Irish crowd didn’t disappoint last week, even though it ended up being a long night. We had some fantastic performances, although it was evident that playing two matches in one night causes the players a bit of a lapse in form. Phil Taylor didn’t look at the races sometimes in his second match of the night, and was lucky to scrape a point against Raymond van Barneveld. For me, bigger isn’t always better when it comes to darts, and even though more matches means more opportunities to bet, it takes something away from the spectacle.

The Free Darts Betting Tip is 5-6, with a profit of +0.1 units after James Wade picked up a relatively comfortable win over Robert Thornton. Wade’s done us a few favours this year, and he’s got the Free Darts Betting Tip back into profit.

Tonight the Premier League Darts action heads to Birmingham and tonight there’s double duty for Phil Taylor, Simon Whitlock, Adrian Lewis and Robert Thornton. While Thornton will be confident, with two winnable matches, Simon Whitlock takes on the World No.1 and World No.2 tonight. Can he pull off the greatest night in Premier League Darts history? Well, I won’t hold my breath, but stranger things have happened. Thornton has matches against Adrian Lewis and Andy Hamilton. Lewis also takes on Phil Taylor in the opening match of the evening. James Wade takes on Raymond van Barneveld in what should be the match of the night – two form players squaring off. So another night of darts that’s full to bursting.
