The first real midweek fixtures of the season produced a few interesting results, none more so on Tuesday night, as Everton snatched a win at home to Arsenal, after the Gunners had led 1-0. Liverpool got back to winning ways, beating Middlesbrough comfortably 3-0. Chelsea continued their winning ways with a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Sunderland. Manchester United managed to sneak a 2-1 win away to Crystal Palace, Manchester City eased to a 2-0 win over Watford and Tottenham coasted past Hull 3-0, so all the big boys done their jobs apart from Arsenal, and it just looks like Chelsea are going to be top at Christmas, so that’s a great omen for their fans, are traditionally they will go on to win the league from this position.

There’s one big shocking that Lawro is going for. He’s predicting Chelsea’s winning run is going to come to an end at Crystal Palace, and he’s predicting the Eagles will get a 1-1 draw with the league leaders. His reasoning in his write-up is simple – the run has to end at some point and it’s most likely to end away from Stamford Bridge. Solid reasoning, Lawro! But I’m also surprised he didn’t predict Liverpool would beat Everton on Monday night, since he loves his precious Reds so much!
