We thought the English Premiership was about to be called in Leicester City’s favour after their win over Manchester City, but than Danny Welbeck blew it all wide open, and Tottenham might have just put the final name in the Manchester City coffin. Is it a three horse race now? Whatever happens, it’s going to be an exciting final few months of the English Premiership season. And we’ve also got the excitement of the battle for fifth, as Manchester United are floundering, and West Ham and Southampton are closing the gap. It doesn’t help that United struggled in Europe, David de Gea got injured in the warm-up, and Wayne Rooney is out for several weeks, too. Fifth place might just end up being a miracle for the Red Devils.
After another win for Lawro last week, he struggled last week. Yes, it was a tough week to predict, but that’s no excuse for Lawro predicting three correct results, and getting no correct scores. To be fair, he would have copped a nice one if it wasn’t for Danny Welbeck. So, yes, we want back to losing ways, and as you would come to expect from Lawro, he did it with a bang, losing a whopping -14.4 units. That takes our loss for the season to -44.82 units We knew the bubble had to burst, and he did it in a seriously spectacular way. Yes, the results last week were tricky to predict, but you know what, Lawro hasn’t delivered, and he’s not got long left to turn this ship around.
But this week we have another FA Cup special for Lawro to get stuck into. The last round of the FA Cup, Lawro smashed it, getting a huge profit, and this could be the week he halves the deficit or even better! Obviously, the tie of the round is Chelsea vs Manchester City, and both sides might not be concentrating fully on it, but there is still a lot of pride at stake for them.
You know what this next section is going to say, but I have to remind you of our good friends at Bet365, and they are, of course, still doing their Bore Draw promotion for this week’s fixtures. So another FA Cup weekend for us, and Lawro has made one big profit and one big loss so far in his FA Cup specials. He’s not gone for any shocks, and I would have thought he might have plumped for a draw between Reading and West Brom. But then I guess Lawro doesn’t want to rock the boat right now when his losses are starting to rack up at an alarming rate. In fact, Blackburn might just push West Ham, too, and although the final eight will probably have a familiar look to it, there should be at least one shock coming out of this FA Cup weekend, considering we didn’t get one last time round.
