February is a great sports month because it is the month in which the biggest sporting event of the entire calendar year takes place: the Super Bowl. This year’s Super Bowl is 54th and should be a great match-up between two strong teams.
This is a leap year so we get a whole extra day of sports and the schedule is really packed on that day. It’s a Saturday so there is a full NBA and NCAA basketball schedule as well as the fourth pay-per-view from All Elite Wrestling, Revolution. We also have a huge NXT TakeOver coming from Portland in February.
February is also the month of the Daytona 500. This is one of the biggest races in all of NASCAR and is a great kickoff to their season. This month is also the home of some great PGA, LPGA and European Championship events. There is also plenty of combat events between boxing and MMA.
There is a lot to get to this month so let’s take a look at the full schedule.
Baseball:
Back in October, the Nationals became the World Champions. A lot has happened since then including the Yankees shelling out record money for Gerrit Cole. Spring training begins this month and we’ll actually see games starting on February 21st.
February 21: MLB Spring Training games begin

The NBA is getting down to the nitty gritty and teams see their last chance to make trades on February 6th. A week after that sees the All-Star Break where teams get a chance to recharge their batteries and the league shows off their brighest stars.
