January is one of the great sports months. We have the NFL playoffs and college bowl games that will see a championship crowned. Alabama looks like the clear favorite there, but a lot can happen between now and then.
We also have the NBA and NHL operating at full strength so there are games to watch every night. The NHL brings the Winter Classic this month as the Blackhawks and Bruins will battle at Notre Dame.
There are some big events kicking off this year as well. Tennis will see the first Grand Slam event of the year with the Australian Open. While WWE will bring the Royal Rumble and boxing has a big Manny Pacquiao fight.
