June is one of the biggest months of the year in sports and this year especially.
We have the 2018 World Cup coming to us from Russia this year with tons of matches, every day of the week. This is always a great time and the international flavor in this tournament is unlike any other sporting event.
On top of that, we also have the NBA Finals and NHL Stanley Cup finals wrapping up this month. Those events are big enough to fill a month of their own, but that’s not all this month has to offer.
Two huge WWE events, UFC, the US Open in golf, the Belmont Stakes and so much more. It’s seriously unfair just how much sports there is to consume this month.
The complete calendar of events is below.
Baseball:
While not as big of an event as the NBA or NFL draft, the MLB Draft is still a pretty big deal. The draft will take place from June 4th to 6th with coverage on MLB Network.
The season is in full swing in June as well with some big series on the slate. The Red Sox and Astros play a series the first week of the month in a battle of two of the very best American League teams thus far this season.
Basketball:
The NBA Finals are in full swing. Game one took place on My 31st and this week will see the champion crowned. The NBA Finals should be very interesting this year as there is a chance that for the first time in four years, we won’t see the Warriors face the Cavaliers.
Once the season finishes, the NBA doesn’t stop as the 2019 NBA Draft takes place on June 21st.
