The dog days of summer are coming to an end and fall is on its way. In the world of sports that means that baseball is getting close to its end and football is right around the corner.
September will see the NFL kicking off their 100th season. The league has big things planned throughout the season and will kick off the year with the oldest rivalry in the league, the Packers versus the Bears.
There is also some good college football action this month while the baseball season will wind down and play their final regular season games.
August also brings Euro 2020 qualifying, some nice golf events, some great MMA action, and much more. Let’s take a look at the complete sports calendar for September 2019.
Baseball:
September 29th is the final day of the 2019 MLB season with the playoffs starting in the first week of October. As has become tradition, all of the games on the final day will start at the same time.
This entire month will be highly competitive as teams jockey for playoff spots. This season’s races have been tight all year and they should come down to the final weekend.
Basketball:
Starting on the last day of August, we have the FIBA World Cup running until the 15th in China.
The first round is a round-robin and will run from the 31st to September 5th. The second round will then begin on Friday, September 6th. The finals will take place on the 15th.

After a champion is crowned, the NBA will start training camps a week or so later.
