When it comes to qualification in Euro 2012 Group B, the betting odds have made it rather tricky to choose who to bet on.
Group B is the host of four teams: Germany, Holland, Portugal and Denmark.
All 4 of these teams could qualify from this group. It’s going to be a tricky one – but that’s why I’m here! To help you out.
Germany are solid favourites to qualify from Group B. Holland are also strong favourites, with Portugal and Denmark being the outsiders.

First of all let me just say right off the bat – if you like taking odds on risks, then Germany are a sure bet. I personally don’t like taking Germany or ANY team at those odds. With only 3 games to prove your quality, anything can really happen.
I also don’t like Denmark to qualify from Group B. The odds for them are way too small, considering they are expected to get routed by Germany and Holland. They came up big against Portugal when it mattered in the Euro 2012 qualifying, but at the end of the day that match is really a coinflip. In terms of quality I’d rate Portugal as better, even though they had a much poorer run through the qualifying stage.
So that leaves us with Holland and Portugal. While Portugal are a quality team, how they got to Euro 2012 is a whole other matter. They were extremely poor and very lucky to be here. Unfortunately, the betting odds for qualifying from Group B don’t really reflect that. So I don’t see any value at all in Portugal qualifying from Group B, based on the betting odds.
What about Holland? Again, the betting odds aren’t on our side. Denmark can surprise people. Portugal on their day, can defeat the Netherlands. Can we really bet on Holland to qualify from Group B? Based on the Group B schedule, if they beat Denmark and then lose to Germany it’s going to go down to that final day against Portugal, in a huge match that could go any way.
If you put a gun to my head, I’d recommend Netherlands. But I just don’t like betting Holland to qualify from Group B based on the betting odds. Instead, I suggest you go for the more favourable bet of Germany to win Group B.
