In their first group games, Poland struggled in a draw with Greece while Russia absolutely destroyed the Czech Republic.
Yet surprisingly, the bookies are still handing us some incredible value for Russia vs Poland.
I am extremely surprised that Russia aren’t favoured more – and I mean a LOT more. This game should really be a no-brainer, and Russia to win is the bet I am going towards in a big way.
Poland have some good players, but when it comes to tactics they are clueless. They started brightly against Greece, but they had no idea how to adjust when they were given an extra man. Think about that – you’re given an extra man, and it makes you worse??? That’s not good. They utilized Holebas a lot but when Samaras was brought back to mark him, Poland were completely out of ideas and Greece ended up running riot.
Against a lesser team this might not matter – but Poland are going up against Dick Advocaat. Advocaat, in my opinion, is the best manager in the tournament in terms of tactics. He knows when and how to press, offers a lethal counter attack, and has an extremely coheisve team.
This one is really a no-brainer: Bet Russia to win
I also really like Russia -1 – we’re getting 15/4 on that. Hell, Russia -2 isn’t too bad either. Poland are going to be playing like a bunch of headless chickens, and the counter-attacking ability of Russia should pick them off with ease.
Finally, Over 2.5 goals is 5/4 – I’d hop on that one too. I can see quite a few goals in this match. Advocaat will want to wrap things up before the game with Greece, so they can sit back in that game and rely 100% on the counter attack, knowing a draw is fine.

I am writing this article on Poland vs Russia betting tips before Euro 2012 has even kicked off – it may seem a bit premature to write this, when I should be waiting for Poland vs Greece and Russia vs Czech Republic to finish off first.

Poland are useless. Sorry, but it’s true. They’re in here not because they earned it – they’re in Euro 2012 because they’re hosting. Simple as that. And any talk about home advantage is a crock of bull – just look at previous European Championships and you’ll see what I mean about that.
This one is a huge, huge steal. The strongest team vs the weakest team in the group, and we’re getting those odds? In a key, key match where if Russia win, they most likely qualify and can rest their players in the 3rd game?
