The 2nd games in Group C take place on Thursday, June 16th. Northern Ireland will first face off against Ukraine, and then Poland will take on Germany.
Germany and Poland actually met in the qualification phase of Euro 2016. They were both in Group D and both qualified. Germany qualified by winning the group by a point. However it was extremely tight and went down to the wire. Poland were also able to beat Germany 2-0 at home, although Germany returned the favour in Germany.
Germany got off to a solid start with a 2-0 victory over Ukraine. However the result doesn’t represent all the facts – Germany had a lot of issues in that game. Their defense looked an absolute mess at times and they were very lucky not to concede before half time. Ukraines counter attacking looked very solid.
Poland also got off to a winning start with their 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland. However it was not an impressive performance from Northern Ireland who sat back with an extreme defensive style. Will be interesting seeing how Poland do up against the Germans.
Germany vs Poland Match Betting Odds:
Germany: 1.57, 4/7, -175
Poland: 6.50, 11/2, +550
Draw: 4.33, 10/3, +333
Germany vs Poland Match Betting Tips:
It’s a very interesting game because having won the previous matches in the group – both teams will be happy with the draw. Germany will be confident of beating Northern Ireland in the last game while Poland should also be confident going up against Ukraine.
The two teams will have a slight advantage too, with Northern Ireland and Ukraine having played earlier in the day.
Back when I was doing the group betting tips, for this group I predicted a forecast of Germany first and Poland second and I can see that happening.
This should be a tight game with both teams sharing the possession. The scariest thing about Germany is how fast they can move the ball upfield – I think it was 7 passes in the last game before the ball was in the back of the net.
However I think we’re going to see a tight affair. Both teams can score so a correct score bet of 1-1 might be for the best. The odds are too good for me though – I’m taking Germany-Poland Draw as I see both teams canceling each other out and settling for the point.
Germany vs Poland Prop Bets:
I’ll be honest I was going to go with Draw-Draw here but I’m not a big fan of it. The odds aren’t there. So I’m going to go with a risky one instead. I believe it’s going to end in a draw, so what I am going to bet is Poland-Draw as a half time/full time bet. The odds of this are 14/1 and I think it’s very possible. Poland will want to attack first and strike while Germany may just be complacent.
