The second quarter-final of Euro 2016 takes place on July 1 at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Villeneuve-d’Ascq between Wales and Belgium. Now, it’s perhaps not the quarter-final many had predicted, after Wales topped their group and Belgium finished second behind Italy in their group, but both sides have been playing great football for the most part, and it looks like it’s going to be a great match.
Wales have got to the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 on the back of a solid team effort backed by the fantastic Gareth Bale. While Bale has been getting the headlines, the entire team has put in great performances to first beat Slovakia, then push England close, then absolutely crush Russia. Come the knockout stages, however, they looked a bit flat against Northern Ireland, but that was to be expected due to the way Northern Ireland set up their side. Playing Belgium will be a different proposition and might just make for a better game than the all-British affair in the previous round.
Belgium turned on the style yet again in their first knockout game, beating Hungary 4-0. It backs up Belgium’s record of playing one poor game and then one great game. They started the tournament terribly, losing to Italy 2-0, then the were sublime against Ireland, winning 3-0, then average against Sweden, before Eden Hazard just took apart Hungary almost single-handedly. Belgium could have had 6 at least, while Hungary did deserve at least a goal, to be fair. Confident is going to be high for one of the pre-tournament favourites, and they’ll be happy with the draw they’ve got.
Wales and Belgium have faced each other 12 times, and the record is tight. Belgium have won 5 games, Wales have won 4, and there have been 3 draws. Wales won their last meeting during qualification for Euro 2016 1-0, and their other game during qualification finished 0-0.

Wales vs Belgium Match Betting Tips:
Looking at qualification for Euro 2016, you would be foolish not to think Wales have a real chance here, considering they didn’t lose to the mighty Belgians. And think, looking at the odds, you have to be taking Wales to win more for the value bet than anything. Now, the other great thing is that the Belgian defence is a bit of a mess at times, and Wales are going to get a lot of chances, and unlike Hungary, they have the players capable of taking them. Both sides are also going to be able to play a more open game of football, which will suit them. Belgium aren’t great against sides that just play a tight game, and neither are the Welsh. The Welsh struggled against Northern Ireland who played tightly, and Belgium were terrible against the always tight Italians. So, an open game, and Wales are going to get chances, and should take them.
Wales vs Belgium Prop Bets:
I know the stats for qualifying don’t back this up, but bear with me here, as we’re going for over 2.5 goals in this one. Wales have played 4 games in Euro 2016, and 3 have had 3 goals. The only one that didn’t was the shocker against Northern Ireland. Belgium have played 4 games, and 2 have gone over 2.5, so the odds of 2.4 or 7/5 look fantastic, especially as I think this is going to be really open, because it’s the way both sides have played so far.
Wish I’d read this before the match, unfortunately I went ALL IN and bet my BANKROLL on Belgium.
Feel silly now, wish I’d listened to Scott at SportsBettingTips.org and bet Wales and the overs and made some serious cash, I’d be able to buy my friend an Xbox One and a copy of Gears of War if I had!
