The fifth live pay-per-view event in All Elite Wrestling history takes place this Saturday, May 23rd. It will air on B/R Live in the US and internationally on FITE TV.
AEW has done a great job during the pandemic of keeping their shows exciting as the wrestlers have really been going all out and the use of wrestlers as fans at ringside has really helped with the atmosphere. I expect they will go all out this weekend to make sure everyone gets their money’s worth.
As always, Scotsman and I did an episode of the Going Over: Bet Pro Wrestling podcast covering this event. Scotsman had a few different opinions than I did so you might want to listen to that one. You can listen here or search “Going Over: Bet Pro Wrestling” wherever you get your podcasts!
AEW Double or Nothing 2020 Betting Odds:
Odds from BetOnline.
- MJF (-150) vs. Jungle Boy (+110)
- Britt Baker D.M.D. (-300) vs. Kris Statlander (+200)
- Best Friends (-150) vs. Private Party (+108)
- Casino Ladder Match: Darby Allin (+175) vs. Colt Cabana (+900) vs. Orange Cassidy (+700) vs. Rey Fénix (+400) vs. Scorpio Sky (+1000) vs. Kip Sabian (+1000) vs. Frankie Kazarian (+1000) vs. Luchasaurus (+1200) vs. ??? (+275)
- Stadium Stampede: The Inner Circle (-180) vs. Matt Hardy & The Elite (+140)
- AEW Women’s Championship: Nyla Rose (-200) vs. Hikaru Shida (+150)
- AEW TNT Championship: Lance Archer (-150) vs. Cody (+110)
- AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (-250) vs. Brodie Lee (+170)
MJF vs. Jungle Boy: MJF has yet to lose a singles match in AEW and this feels like another win for him. The more I look at it though, the more I am not so sure. MJF’s outstanding record should have him in line for a title shot at Jon Moxley, but is that a direction that AEW wants to go? MJF getting upset would bring him back a bit and set up a nice long-running feud between these two as it definitely seems like AEW sees these two as a huge part of their future along with Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara.
That said, at these odds it’s not really worth a bet. 888 has Jungle Boy at +450 which I think is worth a small bet so bet that at 888 (Americans try BetOnline) if you have an account.
Best Friends vs. Private Party: The winner of this match is going to get a title shot at Adam Page & Kenny Omega so I am looking at this one from that perspective. I don’t think that AEW wants to put up the Best Friends crew against the Elite crew at this point. While Private Party would make for an exciting match that wouldn’t hurt either team’s perception. Plus, AEW loves to have big, exciting matches on their Buy-In pre-show and that has Private Party written all over it.
Bet Private Party +108 at 888 (Americans try BetOnline)
Lance Archer vs. Cody Rhodes: This is the finals of the AEW TNT Championship tournament and I think these odds are way out of wack. The story of Cody right now is that he is a choker on the big stage. He lost to Jericho, he lost to MJF, and I think he is going to lose here as well. Lance Archer is doing a great job as an unstoppable monster right now and I just don’t see him losing this one. It’s working too well and Cody loses nothing losing here. This is my favorite pick of the show.
Bet Lance Archer -150 for 4 units at 888 (Americans try BetOnline)
The Inner Circle vs. Matt Hardy & The Elite: I’ve been going back and forth on this one. On the podcast, I thought that this might be the blow-off match to the feud between the Inner Circle and the Elite in place of the Blood & Guts/War Games match. Not even twelve hours later, I’m not so sure. What changed? Cody doing a press conference where he said that he thinks AEW might be going back to live events in front of people soon. I don’t know how far off that is, or if it’s even a good idea, but that leaves out hope that the Blood & Guts match will still happen and that, to me, means an Inner Circle win here.
Bet AEW Double or Nothing at 888 (Americans try BetOnline)
