We’re back with a couple of NBA tips and a couple of MLB tips.
It is exactly one month away from the NBA Playoffs starting and teams are really vying for position. The play-in tournament is really creating some unique scenarios and things are going to look weird with all the injuries we’ve seen. I think the Nets have to be considered the favorite, but both the Bucks and Sixers pose tough defensive match-ups for them. It’s hard to count out the Lakers if they get LeBron and Davis going, but that is going to be a very tough road to the Finals with so many road series.
One team that is appealing to me from a futures betting perspective is the Suns at +1500. This team has won 16 out of their past 19 games and just keeps getting it done. There is a lot of risk here, of course, but I think I trust them more than the Jazz.

Seattle Mariners at Boston Red Sox Betting Tips:

This should be a good offensive game with winds blowing out to right near 20mph. Neither of these pitchers projects to be very dominant this season and both of these offenses have had success early.
That’s definitely true of the Red Sox who have a 126 wRC+ on the early season, best in the MLB. They’ve somehow been even better than that against righties.
The Mariners will have last year’s Rookie of the Year, Kyle Lewis, back in the lineup which should improve the offense that has been mostly carried by their top three. They can score.
Los Angeles Angels at Houston Astros Betting Tips:

This is a big case of what do you believe. Both of these pitchers have had early success. Cobb has a 4.63 ERA/2.06 FIP with a huge 13.11 K/9 rate in his first two starts. While Cristian Javier has a 2.08 ERA/1.59 FIP with a 11.42 K/9 rate.
Something I notice looking at the stats is that Javier has only pitched 8.2 innings. He’s been very good, but he’s not going very deep and the Astros bullpen has been very bad early. The Angels offense has been killing teams early and I think they’ll send Javier packing early.
I have my reservations about Cobb, but that strikeout rate is for real. There is something different about him. For whatever it’s worth, the Astros have struggled against righties this year.

Philadelphia 76ers at Milwaukee Bucks Betting Tips:
The Sixers will be without Tobias Harris, Ben Simmons, and Seth Curry for this one. The Bucks are a big -8 favorite, but I just don’t trust them with that kind of number right now. They’ve dropped their last two games in a similar way that they’ve lost a lot of games this season, by allowing the other team back into the game and making the adjustments too late.
That said, the Bucks can still put up points and they should probably win here. Milwaukee has scored 120 or more in eight out of the past ten games. Embiid can make this thing competitive enough for the Bucks to get there again.
Los Angeles Lakers at Dallas Mavericks Betting Tips:
This line is lower than it should be because Anthony Davis has announced that he plans to play. Is that going to be enough? I don’t think so. We can’t know how much he’ll play, but you have to expect some rust and a minutes limitation. Plus, LeBron is still out.
The Mavs are on a back-to-back, but both have been home games and I think they’ll have success here. I don’t see a good defensive match-up for Luka Doncic and he should do well tonight.
