The playoffs roll on tonight as we see the series shift back to the higher seed’s home court. For the Spurs who lost both games in Memphis, I’m sure this is a welcome reprieve. That series looked to be a blowout after the first two games, but the Grizzlies really played well in their home games and seemed to unlock something in their lineups. Tonight should be very interesting to see if that is real or just a bit of home cooking.
Another game that I will be watching very closely tonight is the Jazz and Clippers. The series switches back to LA with things all knotted up 2-2. This series has been ravaged by injuries as the Jazz lost Rudy Gobert early, the Clippers lost Blake Griffin for the series and Gordon Hayward struggled with food poisoning. The Clips won’t get Griffin back while the Jazz should have Gobert and Hayward at full strength in this one. I’m looking for a big game from Gobert tonight as Doc Rivers said “Gobert doesn’t affect what we do. We play the same,” after game four which could be seen as disrespect by the big man. Gobert is one of the top defensive players in the league and he should have a huge impact on tonight’s game.
NBA Betting Tips:
The Grizzlies aren’t getting a whole lot of respect from the books after the last two games they played. They come into this game as a ten-point underdog as they should be playing in a loud, Spurs-loving arena. That doesn’t change the fact that they’ve seen to unlock something with Conley, Randolph and Gasol that is giving the Spurs trouble. I like the Spurs to win this one, but I think it will be close like the last one. Grizzlies +10 is a solid play.
A huge shoutout to Russell Westbrook on a great season that should be coming to an end tonight. The last game Houston and OKC played was close, but not as close as it looked. James Harden wasn’t quite at 100% and his team still won. The Thunder just aren’t playing the right style of basketball for the playoffs or this series and it has cost them big. While Westbrook could have a crazy night, I like the Rockets -7.5 to take care of business on their home court tonight and get Harden rested up for the next round.
His name is Rudy Gobert. Remember that tonight when he puts on a big-time performance and gets his team within one win of a first round upset. The Clippers without Griffin are just a bit too thin and one-dimensional and I think the Jazz +3 are going to put a whooping on them tonight.
MLB Betting Tips:
Last night’s Brewers and Reds featured 18 runs. Can they top it tonight? Zach Davies and Scott Feldman are not pitcher that anyone is afraid of and even if they pitch well (like they both have against the opposite team this season), they won’t go deep and those bullpens are a dumpster fire. Expect runs, lots of runs. Over 9 runs, even.
Felix Hernandez has looked like the King Felix of old and tonight he gets to face a Tigers offense without Miguel Cabrera. Even better, the Mariners offense gets to face Jordan Zimmerman. This one could get ugly as the Mariners -138 should roll.
