It’s Wednesday and that means just one thing here at the SportsBettingTips.org offices – golf!
It’s a big week in the golf with the PGA Championship, and the news that Rory freaking McIlroy is participating. That’s exciting, and we’re going into this on the back of another cash as well.
Although it was nothing huge, we had Jim Furyk last week to win and E/W, and he duly delivered with a 3rd place. Here is the betting slip:
It could have been a lot better of course with Andres Romero looking good in the Barracuda, up until his stupid meltdown. Boy was that frustrating.
Okay so this week we’ve got the PGA Championship, and also the LPGA Portland Classic. Let’s get to it:
PGA Championship 2015 Betting Tips:
Interesting stat that we’re keeping in mind this week – 14 of the last 16 winners won a tournament that year. Of course it’s not gospel – but it’s an indication of what you’d expect – skill is something that is important when it comes to the PGA Championship, just as it is for any Major event.
First up – half unit on Rory McIlroy at 12/1. We know it’s a risky play – damn risky considering his injury – but that is a heck of a price, and one that we just feel we should be on. I mean you’re talking about arguably the best golfer in the world at such a hefty price – gotta do it.
Next up is full unit on Jim Furyk to win and E/W. 50/1, and Furyk was our cash last week. He’s got great tournament form and current form and we’re hoping he can get a nice finish again.
We’ve also got a lovely longshot bet – half unit on David Lingmerth at 100/1. Of course this is to win and E/W. Lingmerth is in great form this season and he also has a win from a few months ago – he took down the Memorial Tournament. it’s a risky bet in way because skill wise he doesn’t really belong in the upper echelon – but all the numbers point to a solid finish for him and we’ll do a half unit.
Finally quarter unit bets on Rose and Bubba. Both are worth betting to win and E/W with their odds. Both are strong contenders, are within that upper echelon, and you have to expect at least one of them to be amongst the contenders at the end.
Portland Classic 2015 Betting Tips:
For our LPGA Betting Tips this week we’ll take a risk on Lydia Ko 7/1. Her form has been a bit weak but the missed cut at the LPGA Championship seems to have woken her up. We hope so nyway as she was always a joy to watch.
We’re also on 55/1 Austin Ertnst and 33/1 Lizette Salas. Both have some excellent form at this tournament and on this course.
