With the NFL preseason kicking off there is finally plenty of sports action to get us through the day. The start of college football is just around the corner and then our sports week will be filled with viewing and betting options. Fall is coming and while that sadly means the end of summer it also means the start of football so it even outs in the end.
Today we have some NFL preseason action in our tips as well as a CFL game and a few MLB games as well. We have a lot to get to so let’s just dive right into it.
CFL Betting Tips:
Montreal has been one of the worst teams in the CFL thus far this season. Things won’t get much better for them tonight as the face the tied for first place Edmonton Eskimos. Despite the disparate records between these two teams, the line is awfully low. The game is currently a PK and that just seems odd to me. The Eskimos need this game way more than the Alouettes do and they will have the motivation to grab the win. Bet Eskimos PK.
MLB Betting Tips:
The Angels have been ice cold as of late. They were just swept by the White Sox in a three game series in which they only scored four runs. Despite that they are favorited on the road tonight against the Kansas City Royals who just so happen to be one of the best teams in the AL. I don’t like the Angels chances tonight. The line is based on Jeremy Guthrie and his 5.84 ERA pitching for the Royals, but the Angels faced a similar gas can in John Danks last night and were unable to hit him. The Royals +120 is a great value tonight.
The Yankees have also been struggling as of late, but a good way to get out of a slump is to hit some homeruns. They ahve a chance to do that tonight against Trevor Bauer who has a 1.38/9 HR rate as well as 3.38 walks per nine. The Yankees are a patient team with big power and they can punish a pitcher like Trevor Bauer. Nathan Eovaldi goes for the Yankees and he has a 4.15 ERA on the season so he’s not exactly an ace either. This seems to me like a clear Over 7.5 runs.
NFL Preseason Betting Tips:
Betting on the NFL preseason is tough because you are basically betting on which teams have the best second teams or which teams will play their starters the most. Tonight I like the Lions -4 against the Jets. The Jets are without Geno Smith who had his jaw broken by a kicker. They’ll play Ryan Fitzpatrick pretty heavily and he is someone that we know a lot about. He’s not that great and I like the Detroit defensive scheme against him. Plus, the Lions are at home which should give them the slightest desire to actually play to win this one.
