Alrighty that’s me now settled in Scotland, and I think I’ve already beaten the jet lag with a slight nap yesterday then a solid 9 hours last night that seems to have caught me up. Always nice if you can get grips on that early.
It was a solid 3-0 of betting on the EPL over Sunday and Monday. We took Sheffield United to defeat Crystal Palace. Sheff Utd scored early in the second half and that was the lone goal of the game.
I took Leicester or Draw. That was a nice one that I felt happy about because I went into that one ready to make a bet based on name value – which is one of the biggest mistakes you can make in betting in my opinion. Chelsea were 1.70 and I was looking to back them based on that. However the more I looked, the more I felt they would have trouble and correctly bet against them.
I also backed the draw straight up in the Wolves vs Man Utd game and that one also came in. Nice little profitable couple of days.
Alas the Allsvenskan didn’t go our way where I backed two draws there. Close one in the Helsinborg vs Goteborg game where I initially wanted to back IFK, but went with the draw instead. Goteborg were down but scored in the 71st and then 88th minute to steal that one.
Nice thing about being in Scotland is as I type these, it’s only 10am here and plenty of time until todays UK football action starts so I can back that games days if I want. As opposed to Canada where I often write the tips just a couple of hours before the games.
So let’s cover two of the games in todays English Championship:
Birmingham vs Barnsley Betting Tips:
An interesting one here with a nice little price on Birmingham.
Birmingham were surprised to get a thumping against Nottingham Forest for their first defeat in quite awhile and I like them to bounce back strong here. St. Andrews is always a tough place to go. Their main issue this season will be goalscoring no doubt.
Barnsley are the new boys and got off to a great start with a 1-0 win over Fulham. However they have struggled since and had that brutal 3-0 loss against Carlisle in the cup who are in League Two.
Losing Kieffer Moore hurt for them too. I’m a bit concerned about Birminghams goalscoring ability but I think it’s a solid betting option here.

Derby vs Bristol City Betting Tips:
This could be a fun game to watch. Bristol City have the ability to score but don’t exactly have much going defensively.
Derby are unbeaten to begin the season with that win over Huddersfield to open the 2019/2020 season. They have followed that up with two draws.
Derby to me aren’t showing the killer instinct yet but they do seem to be looking solid and I think they’ll be marking this one as a full 3 pointer.
