It’s Wednesday here at the SportsBettingTips.org offices….well, it’s probably Wednesday everywhere. But it’s Wednesday here for sure, and that means one thing – golf tips baby!
Boy are we frustrated after last week. In the Wyndham Championships, we picked three golfers. If any of them had got in the Top 5? We would have made money. And what happened?
THEY ALL CAME 6TH!!!!
Absolutely unbelievable. We thought we were guaranteed a cash, but Brooks Koepka, Webb Simpson and Carl Petterson all let us down in spectacular fashion. We could have been SWIMMING in money last week but nope – they had to do that to us.
Sigh.
Oh well. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, and our Draftkings fantasy team got a cash at least. But bloody hell was that annoying.
Onto the golf betting tips for this week. Remember unless stated – bet to win and E/W, or bet to win and top 5 finish:
Dick’s Sporting Goods Open Betting Tips:
First things first – we will bet the Champions Tour.
Our first betting tip shall be Mark O’Meara. The 20/1 legend has performed so well at this tournament in recent years. We’ve also been watching his form lately and been highly impressed. O’Meara is really stepping it up in the last few weeks and we’ve been close to pulling the trigger on him.
The odds are a bit tighter than hoped – we were initially thinking maybe 25/1 or 30/1 but 20/1 is still playable and we’ll take O’Mera.
We’ll also go on John Cook however we’re betting just a quarter of a unit on Cook. The value on him is huge due to how he performs on this course historically. But we’d be surprised if we cashed this. At 80/1 it’s just a value bet we can’t miss out on.
Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic Betting Tips:
We have to go with Stacy Lewis to win. She’s the favourite as she should be – but we think even at 9/2 there is still value on her. She’s been so unlucky all year not to get a win, but with Lydia and Inbee out of this weeks tournament, this is the time for her to do it.
She’s been on form all year and is great when it comes to this tournament. Just have to take her.
We’re also on Lexi Thompson to win for half a unit. At 10/1 she’s also got great form on this course and is heating up as well with her current form. Either of these two should do it.
Also a longshot bet on Mi Jung Hur mainly due to 40/1 odds and tournament form.
The Barclays Betting Tips:
Finally we have the Barclays. It’s a tight tournament with Spieth the favourite. We’re going to be cautious with two quarter unit bets.
The first is Justin Rose. You have to wonder if he can break that upper tier of golfer – but if Jason Day did it, surely Rose can gain motivation and do it too. He’s been so solid and this tournament is begging for him to do the business.
Finally we’re on the 35/1 Matt Kuchar. Form was great back in 2011 and although he has been up and down this season this is a course that really suits the golf he is playing.
