We had two betting tips yesterday in the Deutsche Bank Championship so we won’t know the results of those for a few days.
We had Celtic-Celtic in the UEFA Champions League Qualifier and wow – big, big loss for them as they lost 1-0 and looked horrible. Changes need to be rung in there and fast.
And of course we had MK Dons to beat Man Utd 4-0. Ha – can you imagine we called that? No we didn’t have any betting tips for that game – and now we’re regretting it. MK Dons were 15/2 to win but really could you fathom them winning, let alone a 4-0 thrashing?
Yipes.
Staying with the soccer today, for August 27th 2014 as we’re going with three betting tips:
UEFA Champions League Betting Tips: Arsenal vs Besiktas
Arsenal go into this one after a 0-0 draw away to Besiktas.
Giroud being out is a big blow for the Gunners, but we feel defensively they have what it takes to stop Besiktas, and that this will be a close tight one, but a win for Arsenal.
Unfortunately the odds on Arsenal to win are not good at 4/9 odds. So we’re going to look at Half Time/Full Time. We think this one will be a slow game initially and Arsenal will look to frustrate Besiktas.
Let’s go with Draw-Arsenal at 13/5 odds.
UEFA Champions League Betting Tips: Athletic Bilboa vs Napoli
It was 1-1 in Napoli, and now they come here for the second leg.
Bilboa are a solid team. They’re confident big time here and the pressure is on Napoli. It’s a scary situation for Napoli with all the pressure on them and their inability to win in the first leg.
Bilboa are a vicious counter attacking team with an away goal advantage and that could be enough to thwart Napoli. They also have the ability to attack well, and we think Bilboa will win and qualify.
But what about the bets? Bilboa are 8/15 to qualify but we think they will win outright. It’s the safest bet to make anyway at 13/10 odds – a nice price of it.
So go with Bilboa for the win.
Capital One Cup Betting Tips: Aston Villa vs Leyton Orient
Surprising price for Villa here. They’re 4/6 odds to beat Leyton Orient.
The only concern is if Villa played a weakened team but I really can’t see that, and they should have what it takes to beat Leyton Orient regardless.
We would have expected the price to be higher. Villa should field mostly their first team, and Paul Lambert knows that the best chance of Aston Villa picking up a trophy this season are in the Capital One Cup.
Have to go with Villa at that price. You might want to consider Villa-Villa as a half time/full time bet too but we’ll stick with just Villa who have been great so far in the EPL.
