Man I can’t wait for this weekend – the return of the Scottish Premier League, and following that football from all around the world starts to kick off again.
I’m not tipping Champions League or Europa qualifiers and that has made things a tad difficult. Yesterday for example I glanced through the games taking place Wednesday and Thursday and found myself really forcing myself to try and make a pick.
After doing that I decided nah best just not to bother with any bets rather than force myself.
We won’t have that issue thankfully when the regular football all kicks off. Looking forward to that as I can cover weekend games a few days in advance etc so I get the majority of the leagues going.
With that said on Friday there are three Irish Premier Division games that I am analyzing. They will all be small bets unless something jumps out at me.
UCD vs Derry City Betting Tips:
Derry City are the heavy favourites at 1.22 odds. They’re 4th in the Irish Premier Division while UCD are bottom.
Derry City have had some struggles away lately with a 1-0 loss to Fin Harps then a 0-0 draw against Bohemians. Their overall away record is quite poor with a 4-7-3 record.
These two teams played back on the 12th and UCD came away with a great 0-0 draw. They had a nice little run going but lost recently to Shamrock Rovers 7-0 in a thrashing and Waterford 2-1.
Their form hasn’t been too bad lately and I think they might be in with a small chance.

Cork City vs St Patrick Betting Tips:
An even matchup according to the bookies. Cork City however are on just 27 points while St Patrick are on 37 points. Cork City are at home where they have been poor all season long. They haven’t won here in 4 games and have went 7 games without a win.
St Patricks however are struggling at the moment to score goals. Granted so are Cork but I think Cork will be the more motivated team to end this winless steak and this might be the game to do it.
St Patrick’s Athletic are no slouches, but I think Cork might pull off a wee surprise here.

Finn Harps vs Bohemians Betting Tips:
Finn Harps are second bottom in the league. Bohemians are third top but a fair way behind Dundalk who are looking good for the title.
Bohemians are in a run of mixed form at the moment with 1 win in their last 5 games. Finn Harps have had a better run of form lately with a tight defence causing them to get wins over Derry City and Waterford. Which is amazing when you consider Finn Harps have the worst defensive record in the league.
Finn Harps have been excellent at home lately too. It’s an intriguing match-up and I think the numbers suggest Bohemians don’t win here but I have a gut feeling they do.
