A 1-1 record on Saturday.
The Astros were our pick in the first five innings over the Athletics on Saturday and they absolutely rolled. The Astros scored five runs in the first two innings which was enough for us to get the win.
We were looking for a bounce back from Anibal Sanchez in the Nationals/Red Sox game and it did not come. Sanchez got tagged for five runs in this one which lead to the Red Sox win.
Today is the MLB trade deadline and we’ve already seen a flurry of moves. One of the key things we are seeing is: the Padres are absolutely going for it. As I write this they’ve acquired: Mike Clevinger, Mitch Moreland, Austin Nola, Jason Castro, Austin Adams, Dan Altavilla, and Trevor Rosenthal. This team is filling a lot of holes and gearing up for a run at the Dodgers. You love to see it.
The system didn’t have anything for us yesterday, but let’s finish the month strong with today’s picks.

All tips based on the starting pitchers listed. Tips should be considered void if any pitching changes are made unless otherwise noted.
Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees Betting Tips:
Rays: Tyler Glasnow 5.14 ERA/3.52 FIP
Yankees: Gerrit Cole 3.51 ERA/4.38 FIP
Two good pitchers that have been pitching below their expectations and two offenses that are smashing everyone right now. It’s easy to look at the names and think this total is right on, but I think we are going to see some offense today. This ballpark is always good for offense and these two teams can hit anyone.
Atlanta Braves at Boston Red Sox Betting Tips:
Braves: Max Fried 1.35 ERA/2.28 FIP
Red Sox: Colten Brewer 4.57 ERA/5.99 FIP
The Braves offense has been on fire of late and I like their match-up against Brewer and the collection of arms in the bullpen.
Max Fried has been one of the best pitchers in the game thus far. He’s got a great groundball rate which should help mute some of the Red Sox bigger bats. Boston has a 44.3% groundball rate on the season.
Chicago White Sox at Minnesota Twins Betting Tips:
White Sox: Lucas Giolito 3.09 ERA/2.67 FIP
Twins: Rich Hill 3.55 ERA/4.32 FIP
Gio is coming off a no-hitter, but he’s been excellent for awhile. He’s allowed two runs or less in five of his seven starts this season and he’s struck out 13 batters in each of his last two starts. His ERA is high mainly because of his first start of the season when he allowed seven runs against the Twins. He’s looked much better since then and I can see him showing off what he has learned here.
The White Sox offense has been fantastic against lefties this year and is stacked top to bottom. I think they continue to mash here.

San Diego Padres at Colorado Rockies Betting Tips:
Padres: Garrett Richards 5.17 ERA/4.95 FIP
Rockies: German Marquez 4.50 ERA/3.70 FIP
A classic match-up of two teams going in opposite directions. The Padres offense has been crushing everyone of late and now they get to play a series in the best hitter’s park in baseball. They are going to bash today.
The Rockies offense has really dropped off the face of the earth of late and their bullpen has joined them. Over the past two weeks, the Rockies have a 65 wRC+ and a 129 FIP-. That is bad stuff and I think the Padres are going to roll here.
