June 26th sees the final two games in Group C of the World Cup. France currently lead the group and take on 2nd place Denmark, while Australia take on the eliminated Peru.
Peru have fought hard but have been disappointing in front of goal unable to finish. They lost 1-0 to Denmark after dominating the majority of the games possession and then lost 1-0 to France, unable to break through to the French back line much.
Australia lost 2-1 to France thanks to a penalty and an own goal, then had a dominating performance vs Denmark to gain the draw.
There’s no doubts about it here – Australia need a win and have to hope that France beat Denmark. Not sure how things will be with fair play however with just one fair play point separating them, Australia will probably hope to win by a couple of goals so it’s by goal difference.

Australia Analysis:
One tricky thing about Australia is they are very sound defensively and have a great team defense, but just no attack to them. It also makes me sad not seeing Cahill in the line-up. Whenever they have a corner it seems to be sent to that one spot where Cahill would usually be standing ready to head it home.
I think they were lucky too with the draw against Denmark. The VAR/Penalty seemed to take the wind out of the sails of the Danes and they couldn’t get it back for the rest of the game. In saying that it’s criminal that with the way the Aussies took hold of the game they couldn’t finish it.
They need a big offensive performance here if they want to progress so it’s going to be interesting seeing if they can bring it or not.
Peru Analysis:
They had their chances against Denmark but couldn’t take them and that was probably the best we’ve seen of them all tournament – that first half against the Danes where they were so up for it.
They have some great triangle setups when it comes to passing which I like to see – but it just doesn’t link up well offensively.
Even if they play to their best here I think it will be hard to break down this Argentinian defense.
Australia vs Peru Betting Tips:
I don’t know if Peru can get a goal. Meanwhile despite being rather limp offensively, I’m always good backing a team to win when they absolutely HAVE to win. Of course Peru might be up for this game considering the emotion to open the World Cup, but I’m quite happy with backing Australia to win for 3 units. Bet that at https://www.Bovada.lv.
