Well it’s been quite the week in MMA. With UFC 197, the Conor McGregor situation and so much more you’d almost forget that there was a Bellator card tonight.
Actually you probably did forget – even though I watch them all, I know I did! The only time I remembered about it was when I saw Benson Henderson talking about the Conor McGregor situation and I was like – oh yeah – Bellator 153 is this week isn’t it.
This event is coming from Connecticut and will be airing on Spike TV. It’s got the Welterweight Championship as the main event with Benson Henderson taking on the champion Andrey Koreshkov. The main card also has Patricio Freire vs Henry Corrales in a Featerweight match, and Brennan Ward vs Evangelista Santos in what should be a good fight.
There’s also a lot of prelim fights on here. If you are looking at betting on Bellator 153 and wondering where to bet you can do that at https://www.Bovada.lv.
Let’s get to the card:
Andrey Koreshkov vs Benson Henderson Betting Tips:
We’ve just got to take Koreshkov for the win here. He’s a high +250 and will be some solid competition for Henderson. Benson should probably win but it’s amazing how a promotion jump can negatively affect someone. There’s a ton of pressure on Henderson too. I’m still not 100% convinced on Henderson at this weight either. The Russian is also a solid finisher with a rather unique style. I think Koreshkov should be more about +150 odds here.
Patricio Freire vs Henry Corrales Betting Tips:
I just haven’t been a fan of Corrales and haven’t liked what I’ve seen from him in Bellator so far. This is an important fight for him but Pitbull is rightly a heavy favourite. You can get a great price of Freire to win inside the distance or by KO and that’s what I am on. Bet that at https://www.Bovada.lv.
You may also want to do a double of Brennan Ward by KO as well. Ward is a strong knockout artist and loves to stand and bang and we can see him taking his fight over Santos in the same manner.
Brent Primus vs Gleristone Santos Betting Tips:
In what will be the first fight on the main card I believe – I’m quite looking forward to this one. Brent Primus isn’t exactly being fed cans but Bellator are trying to protect him knowing he has what it takes to potentially be a Bellator superstar.
I think the big issue for Primus is his cardio. He’s got 4 submission wins and a TKO finish on his record but we’ve seen how his cardio is – he didn’t look too solid in the Derek Anderson fight and I think that is going to be an issue. Sure he hadn’t fought in over a year there but it’s also been 8 months since he last fought and I believe we’re going to see the same cardio issues here.
I’m going to go for what I feel is the ultimate value however which is Santos winning via decision.
