The final round of Group E games in the 2018 World Cup take place on Wednesday, June 27th. Brazil take on Serbia and Switzerland take on Costa Rica.
No teams have yet qualified in the group stages although Costa Rica have been eliminated after two losses.
Brazil have a win and a draw although in rather interesting fashion. They opened brightly against the Swiss and went up 1-0 with a Coutinho wonder strike. However they allowed Switzerland back into the game and it ended up a 1-1 draw. They then could barely break down the Costa Ricans, and needed an injury time goal from Coutinho to take the lead. Neymar then secured the victory minutes later.
Serbia started brightly with a victory over that tough Costa Rica side. They then took the lead early against the Swiss. It was a very open match and Switzerland, much like in the Brazil game, came out the second half strong and scored promptly. They then made it 2-1 in the 90th minute.
Brazil qualify with a win or a draw and could even lose and go through if the Swiss lose, goal difference dependent. Serbia could draw and go through but it depends on goal difference or goals scored. Serbia will ideally also be looking for the win.

Brazil Analysis:
Brazil have been such an odd team to figure out. The first 20 minutes against Switzerland – up until they scored – they were absolutely BRILLIANT. You could have given them the World Cup right there. Then they scored and faded.
It was the opposite against Costa Rica. They weren’t too impressive for the majority of the game (I mean they were, but it wasn’t their “A” game) , then when they did score in injury time suddenly they looked like that World Cup winning team again with multiple beautiful injury time attacks.
So they’re a team that can completely switch it on at times but they can’t seem to do it for 90 minutes. They also don’t have much going on the right hand side of the pitch, focus more on the left and it makes it a lot easier for opponents to defend against.
The big change was Douglas Costa coming on at half time and that really made things better. I’m a fan of WIllian but I think Costa has to play from here on out.
Serbia Analysis:
Serbia will feel hard done by but the fact is that Switzerland really were the better team in the 2nd half and overall throughout the game against them and deserved the win.
They just can’t pass the ball around well enough and resorted a lot of the time to route one football with big passes to Milinkovic-Savic. Pity as I think they could do better than that.
I just think tactically they don’t have what it takes.
Brazil vs Serbia Betting Tips:
It’s a tricky one in regard to the potential clash with Germany. Regardless of the Germans results thus far and Mexicos performances, Brazil would much rather play Mexico I expect.
I also think in little bursts, Brazil have shown that when they play their “A” game they are the best team in the World Cup. Problem is they don’t do that.
If they really want it, this is their game for the taking. Not sure if they do though.
The price on Over 2.5 goals is nice enough and gives me something to cheer. Serbia also really need to attack and Brazil may take advantage of that. I’ll do a small bet of 1u on Over 2.5 Goals. I was debating 0.5u but when I look at the pros/cons I think there are just enough to back that for a little bit more. Bet that at https://www.Bovada.lv.
