Congratulations to the Houston Astros on their first World Series win. We had them winning it a day earlier than they did, but we had the right team. That offense was just relentless and George Springer was a more than deserving MVP. Five homeruns in seven games is really impressive and this team should be around for awhile. They are simply loaded with talent with more in the pipeline.
We move our focus to football tonight as the season rolls on. Tonight isn’t our favorite Thursday Night Football game of the year, but it does feature a team that really has surprised some people this year in the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills currently sit at 5-2 on the year and are in prime position for a playoff spot. They’ve done it with a strong running game and an outstanding defense. That should match-up well with this Jets team.
In classic Jets fashion, they can’t even tank right. They are 3-5 and a shocking 5-2-1 against the spread. Expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL, their fans can’t even make money betting against them. They have had at least one turnover from their offense in every game this year and five of them have seen multiple turnovers. Their defense has done well with the passing game, but allowed huge numbers on the ground.
NFL Betting Tips:
The Bills are a -3 favorite on the road tonight and while that is usually a red flag, we really like it here tonight. They come into this game on two-game winning streak and have won four of their past five. They are playing their best football right now and should get the job done.
Meanwhile, the Jets have lost three straight and even the two wins before that were only decided by a field goal. This team is crashing back down to earth and the Bills will accelerate that tonight.
This Jets team just turns the ball over so damn much and allows so much yardage on the ground while the Bills have the stout defense and the strong running game, it just makes sense.
Buffalo -3 should roll tonight and the Jets tyranny against the spread should be defeated. At least for one night.
NBA Betting Tips:
The Warriors have been a mess early, but so has the entire NBA. The early start and shortened training camp has turned the first few weeks of the season into preseason and we’ve seen some weird results. The Pistons beating the Warriors at home and the Cavs losing to everyone are two great examples of this. I’m starting to think that for the Warriors, the training is over.
They are tops in the NBA in offensive rating by a large margin. Their 118.7 O-Rating is 9 points better than the next best team and against the Spurs without Kawhi Leonard they should be able to keep that number up. They really clicked against the Clippers earlier this week and they looked to be the team that we all remember the being over the last couple years.
The Warriors -7.5 are back. Hide your kids. Hide your wives.
