Welcome to this weeks golf tips.
The big tournaments this week are the British Masters and the AT&T Byron Nelson.
Unfortunately I won’t be backing anything in the British Masters. Just not much I like there to be honest not really knowing the course. If you’re someone who likes to bet purely for entertainment however – as I do – then I’d advise a small bet on Tommy Fleetwood to win. I don’t think the odds are good enough to advise it, however I’ve got to think he’ll be amongst the mix all weekend and will at least give us some viewing entertainment.
Last week was the Wells Fargo and for the 5th time this year, we went into the final round with a strong contender that fizzled out. That player was Rory McIlroy who was actually favourite at all the bookies despite being a couple of strokes behind in the live betting. Alas he struggled and couldn’t keep it going. Disappointing to see.
For the AT&T Byron Nelson, I’ve got three separate predictions.
Scott Piercy at 45/1 is a solid, solid price. The man is looking in good form coming into this with that Top 15 place in New Orleans, and the week prior coming in 3rd at the RBC Heritage. Last year he didn’t exactly kill it but it was a new course for everyone and he still managed to make the cut so that’s good. Coming in on form, and with the Greens in Regulation and Driving Accuracy stats as they are – both two factors this week in my opinion – I’m making a bet on Scott to win/Top 5.
My next bet is Keith Mitchell who is currently 33/1. He’s also an in form golfer and he actually performed well here last year coming in third. Bermuda is something he seems to always perform well on – just enjoys that sort of layout – and it really ups his game. I’m on him to win and top 5 as well.
Finally I’m on Scott Scheffler who has been crushing it at the Web.com lately. A Dallas native, always a plus, and I think he could be a surprise factor. 60/1 odds but I’m going with him to win and top 5.
That’s all my golf bets but with Ajax vs Tottenham Hotspur taking place later today let’s quickly cover that one:
Ajax vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction:
Spurs lost 1-0 in the first leg. They’re struggling in the EPL at the moment and just can’t score. Of course they’ve had goalscoring issues before then we saw that insane Man CIty game in the last round.
If they’re able to pull another bunny out of the hat then so be it.
But I’ve got to go with Ajax to win. 2.15 odds, and Ajax is someone who still seem to be underrated by a lot of people. This is a team that have been able to eliminate some giants in football and have the domestic form to match.
Also going to take Heung-Min Son to score anytime. The lad owes Spurs a goal after the weekend.
