This week on the PGA Tour it’s the CIMB Classic.
We’re coming into this one off the back of another great win! This one could have been huge but we had to settle for a 2nd place:
We’ve got a solid field for this one with the likes of Henrik Stenson, Kevin Na and Hideki Matsuyama amongst the favourites to take this down. Last year we had Matsuyama at lesser odds too – he was 14/1 last year and we bet on him. However while he did have a solid outing last year coming in 21st – he just didn’t impress us to the extent that we have to bet on him.
Henrik Stenson is obviously a favourite due to his current form. And with back to back 2nd places Kevin Na is expected to do well here too. Stenson has never played here while Kevin Na played and came tied for 2nd last year.
CIMB Classic 2015 Betting Odds:
- Henrik Stenson: 13/2
- Kevin Na: 14/1
- Hideki Matsuyama: 16/1
- Branden Grace: 16/1
- Sergio Garcia: 16/1
- Patrick Reed: 18/1
- Ryan Moore: 18/1
- Paul Casey: 22/1
- Justin Thomas: 22/1
- Adam Scott: 22/1

CIMB Classic Betting Tip #1: Gary Woodland
The American Gary Woodland hasn’t been playing much golf on the PGA tour in awhile, but he’ll be back for the CIMB Classic and we’re sure he will up his game playing rounds with Ryan Moore.
Woodland last played over a month ago in the Deutsche Bank Championship where he came 12th, and the BMW Championship where he came 60th. That is a bit of a misleading score due to a +4 day. He would have been much higher if not for that last round.
It’s been awhile since he has cracked a top 5. The last time he did that was May 17th, 2015 at the Wells Fargo Championship. However Woodland will be looking to take down two time winner Ryan Moore. He has came 2nd here twice and regardless of form always brings it at the CIMB Classic.
CIMB Classic Betting Tip #2: Ryan Moore
It’s rare enough for a golfer to repeat win a tournament yet alone threepeat – which is probably why Ryan Moore isn’t amongst the favourites odds. Moore is a hefty 18/1.
The thing is his form hasn’t been that bad either. 43rd last week, and a 10th place finish the week before. We can only assume most people are staying away from him when it comes to the betting due to the rare threepeat odds.
But we will take it for half a unit. Not only has Moore won this tournament twice but he’s also got a 5th place finish. There are a few minor changes this year which may even help Moore.
We’ll only bet half a unit though.
CIMB Classic Betting Tip #3: Kevin Na
Na seems to have hit his form at just the right time. He’s got back to back top 5 finishes and is looking very solid as he comes into the tournament he placed 2nd in last year.
We’re going to do half a unit bet on Na. We’re not fully confident in him.
