It’s been a solid start to the 2019 Copa America so far from a betting tips perspective.
We had Brazil -2 on the Friday and they won 3-0.
On Sunday we went with Qatar or Draw. That was a bloody exciting one and I said it in the comments but man – it felt weird cheering on Qatar considering they’re the “villains” of the football world at the moment.
Saturday was a 1-1 day. I lost with Both Teams to Score in the Venezuela vs Peru game as NEITHER team was able to score ha. Very disappointed in that although to be fair both teams did have a lot of chances. Ball just couldn’t get in the back of the net.
We won with the 2nd half in the Argentina vs Colombia game to have more goals. It was a goalless first half and then Roger Martinez scored in the 71st minute to win us that bet.
On Sunday I also backed Uruguay to win and they did that with ease with a big 4-0 win thanks in part to the red card of Jose Quinteros.
For Tuesday, June 18th we get to see teams we’ve already seen in action as Bolivia take on Peru, and Brazil take on Venezuela. Both are Group A games.
Bolivia vs Peru Betting Tips:
Peru are heavy favourites going into this one at 1.50 odds to win.
They were probably the slightly better team against Venezuela.
Honestly I thought Bolivia did a decent job against Brazil. They knew how Brazil were going to play and they did a solid job of thwarting their attacks.
They set out to be defensive but I think we can see a different performance from them in this one. They’ve got a quality striker in Marcelo Martins Moreno and I could see him getting more chances.
I feel there’s a small value play betting against Peru here.

Brazil vs Venezuela Betting Tips:
Brazil gave Bolivia a 3-0 thumping and are 1.16 favourites going into this one.
Bolivia did do a good job of soaking up the pressure against Brazil and have to wonder if Venezuela go with a similar defensive approach. A point here would be huge for them.
I thought Brazil got a bit lucky with the penalty to be honest. That kind of opened up the floodgates but I’d rate Venezuela defence better than Bolivia.
Could be Brazil do what the bookies expect and give them a thumping, but I’m going to do a small bet on the under here.
