Croatia and Iceland face off in the final round of Group D games at the 2018 World Cup on Tuesday, June 26th. Argentina and Nigeria will play at the same time.
Croatia have already qualified for the knockout rounds with two excellent performances. They defeated Nigeria 2-0 and Argentina 3-0. They have shown some solid performances and look dangerous.
Iceland have been a mix. They had a solid showing against Argentina. Not so much against Nigeria however a lot of that was Nigeria with some solid defense and midfield work, and a clinical counter.
Iceland are joint bottom of the group with Argentina. Nigeria are on 3 points so Iceland need to hope they win and then goal difference will also be a factor regardless of the outcome.
If they’re leading 1-0 or 2-0 you’ll probably see them all doing the math trying to figure out what to do with how the other game is playing out.

Croatia Analysis:
Croatia are a real interesting team and I hate to underrate them but I think a lot of it has been good fortune for them.
Against Nigeria I felt the Nigerians defended too much and were punished for it. We saw a better performance from Nigeria against Iceland. And then there was Argentina. Not much to say there.
However they will be playing confident and will want to keep the confidence going with a win here regardless of whether it matters or not.
Iceland Analysis:
A solid performance against Argentina regardless of how Messi & co have performed. However it was just a bad day at the office against Nigeria.
The defense wasn’t as tight as it could be and the penalty miss was a disaster. I wonder if they actually suffered from overconfidence in that one.
Of course this is a game where they have to actually attack and score. I just don’t know if they have the quality to do that.
Croatia vs Iceland Betting Tips:
This is not the type of game suitable for Iceland. Honestly I hope I’m wrong. I love those guys and being Scottish I love them that little bit more after the Euro 2016 game against England.
However I don’t know if they can perform in a game like this. I am wary of them though and am not completely sold on Croatia so just 1u on Croatia to win.
Probably one of those bets where I regret not betting more after the fact.
