This has been a really exciting season for Florida Atlantic and it all culminates in tonight’s Boca Raton Bowl. Lane Kiffin is in his first year as coach here and he really turned the program around into something exciting. They pretty much dominated Conference USA and had one of the best running games in the country. FAU was 3-9 for three straight seasons before this year’s 10-3 record and this team is coming into the bowl game strong.
Devin Singletary had an awesome season in the backfield, rushing for over 1700 yards and 29 touchdowns. Those TDs led the nation and set a school record. This team rushed for nearly 300 yards per game and they draw a great match-up here against a 7-6 Akron team that allowed 432 yards per game.
Florida Atlantic has had an outstanding season and this bowl game tonight could be the capper on one of the best seasons in school history.
Boca Raton Bowl Betting Tips:
Lane Kiffin has this squad ready and FAU should roll all over this Akron team tonight. The line is a bit high, but the rushing total should be really high and this is going to be the crowning jewel for the FAU season.
Akron got really roughed up by the top tier MAC teams and this is simply an uneven match-up. One would think that after one of the best seasons in FAU history and the game taking place in Florida that this would basically be a home game for FAU. All that adds up to an easy pick. FAU -22.5 is the pick.
NBA Betting Tips:
The Pelicans have been a frustrating team this season. They have an amazing offense that works better than anyone ever dreamed with Cousins and Davis together, but their defense has been really disappointing. They are 26th in Defensive Rating at an embarrassing 107.8. They get the Wizards tonight who have John Wall back in the lineup for them. This is a great match-up for Washington before you consider that Anthony Davis is listed as questionable. The Wizards -3 is a great play tonight.
Milwaukee has had an up and down season this year. When things are going right this looks like one of the top four teams in the East with Giannis Antetokounmpo looking like the MVP. Things haven’t been going that great of late lately as they’ve lost three straight. They face the Cavs tonight who are 19-2 over their past twenty-one games. They are just absolutely killing teams right now, despite their bottom five defense, and getting it done on a nightly basis.
There is a world where this is a future Eastern Conference playoff match-up, but for tonight it’s just one of the four best teams in all of basketball against a 15-15 squad. LeBron James has been doing great things this year and he always seems to be motivated when he plays a young superstar. I expect no different tonight and for the Cavs -1.5 to win this game outright.
