After last night there are just two weeks left in the NFL season and a few of the division races should come down to the wire. The terrible NFC East and AFC South should come down to who can win eight games. While the AFC Wild Card, NFC Central and AFC West could come down to the final weekend of the season. It should be a good run.
There is no NFL until Thursday, but we still have football today as the bowl season is now in full swing. Akron takes on Utah State in Idaho at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in the early game. This should basically be a home game for Utah State as Idaho is far easier to travel to for Utah fans than it is for people in Ohio. In the later game, we have Toledo and Temple in the Marmot Boca Raton Bowl.
The NBA is also in action tonight with four games on the slate. The league didn’t schedule any true marquee match-ups tonight, but there are still some good betting opportunities and a few games worth checking in on.
College Football Betting Tips:
If there was any argument for there being too many arguments it would probably be Utah State being in action today despite finishing at just 6-6 this season. Weren’t bowl games supposed to be a reward for a good season? Despite their average record, Utah State is actually and seven point favorite and we like them tonight. For one, this is basically a home game for them as it is likely they will have far more fans making the drive than Akron. Secondly, this team can just score. From a yards per game perspective these two teams are pretty equal, but Utah turns more of their points in to touchdowns and I expect them to do that today in front of a happy crowd. Utah State -7
In the late game, we’re all about the over 49.5 points. Toledo and Temple have combined to average 65 points per game for the season and over 800 yards. While both have played good defense, they haven’t played many teams that match up with them as well as each other. This could be a fun one.
NBA Betting Tips:
The Pistons had a great start to the season, but have struggled as smart teams figured out how to defend the Andre Drummond/Reggie Jackson combo. They are still very good, but they just aren’t very deep. They get one of those smart defensive teams tonight in Miami as they face the Heat. Miami has played great at home thus far this season at 12-5 and the combination of those two factors has us tipping them tonight at Miami -3.
We also have the Lakers taking on the Nuggets tonight in Denver. The Nuggets aren’t a great team, but they play hard every night and they actually try on put up a fight on most nights which is more than we can say for the Lakers. This is a game that the Nuggets will win. Grab Denver -6 now before it gets any higher. This thing opened at -3.5 and just keeps on climbing. Just like the Lakers chances at the #1 overall pick.
