A 1-0 record last night.

We had the Spurs last night and they absolutely cruised to victory with a 124-98 win over the Wolves. The Spurs ended with seven players in double figures, led by Bryn Forbes with 22 points. The Spurs past five wins have all been by 25-plus points and this team is absolutely rolling right now. You just can’t count out the Spurs, they always seem to find a way.

In other NBA action, we had the Jazz beat the Blazers on the road. That team really makes no sense to me as they seemingly always win when they you think they won’t and lose when they should win. To be fair, they have had the hardest schedule in the NBA thus far so this is definitely a team to watch going forward.

Anthony Davis ended up playing last night against the Lakers, but it didn’t matter as the Lakers won. The Lakers were without JaVale McGee, so the surprising performance of the game goes to Ivica Zubac who finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Seven games on the slate tonight, let’s see what we’ve got.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Miami Heat: This feels like a trap game. Last night, the Bucks beat the Celtics in Boston on national television in dominating fashion. Tonight, they head to Miami and are only a -3 favorite. The Heat have been playing good basketball of late, but the Bucks are clearly better. That said, imagine having an emotional high and then heading to Miami for a late Friday night. Next.

Toronto Raptors vs. Philadelphia 76ers: No Kawhi Leonard or Kyle Lowry for the Raps tonight while the 76ers are one of the best home teams in the league. The line is -7.5 and that just feels like a lot here. Staying away.

Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Clippers: The recent stats really favor Denver here, but they are riddled with injuries and the Clippers have been a pretty good road team. Feels like one team will win big, just not sure which one it will be.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Houston Rockets Betting Tips:

In case you missed it in the opening, the Spurs have won five straight by 25 or more points. That’s insane. This team has really figured out a nice team brand of basketball (shocking) and the young players like Bryn Forbes, Jakob Poeltl, and Davis Bertans are starting to come along.

The Rockets have really been playing some good basketball again, but now Chris Paul is going to be out for awhile with an injury. This team has been short on firepower for awhile, but the combined powers of James Harden and Chris Paul have been enough. Without him, I’m just not sure how they are going to do it barring a trade. Brandon Knight should see more minutes, but I’m just not believing in him in that role yet. He’s only averaged 8 minutes per game in his five games this season. Normally I’d take a wait and see approach with a situation, but the Spurs are just so hot right now and they are getting points.
