A 2-1 winning record last night.
Our lone loss was as Detroit failed to show up in Washington last night. Heading into this game Detroit was 8-2 against the spread in road games, but the Wizards just played a great game and grabbed the win.
The Spurs were a -3 favorite on the road at Memphis and managed to win by 16 as they held the Grizzlies to just 79 points. The Grizzlies are just an absolute mess right now and things are going to be getting better any time soon.
Oklahoma City grabbed a much needed win against the Timberwolves, but that’s okay because we had the Wolves +5.5 and the final score was 111-107. That line felt too high and that’s exactly what it was.
Let’s get into tonight’s tips and keep the good times rolling.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Tips:
Like we said in the opening, the Grizzlies are an absolute mess right now and things aren’t going to get any better. This is a team on one of the worst runs in the NBA right now against a team on a ten-game winnning streak. You can guess how this one will go.
The thing that is great about the Cavs right now is the bench units with LeBron. Throw LeBron with Kyle Korver and Dwyane Wade and magical things start happening. They are really upping their three point attempts and it’s showing in the win column. It’s almost like signing Derrick Rose was a bad idea(?).
Compare that to the Grizzlies who don’t have a great bench with Conley out, their point guards are a rookie and a guy who wasn’t in the league last year and you can guess how this one will go. Cavs -11 is the play.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets Betting Tips:
With Nikola Jokic out, there has been a run of bets on the Lakers. The line has shifted to -6 to -4.5 already. We think this is a mistake. Our system loves the Nuggets home court advantage as elevation effects are real and can really mess with a road team. The Lakers aren’t great on the road and the Nuggets are a borderline playoff team. Not going to overthink this one.
Nuggets -4.5 is our play.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Portland Trailblazers Betting Tips:
The number two defensive rating and one of only two teams with a rating under 100 is, shockingly, the Portland Trailblazers. They have done a great job of limiting opponent threes this season and it’s leading to great things on the defensive end. Throw in the always solid offense led by Dame Lillard and CJ McCollum and this is looking like a great team.
This is a great spot for them at home as well. The Pelicans have Anthony Davis listed as questionable for tonight. The Pelicans don’t shoot the three well and don’t defend it as well as the Blazers do. That is a great recipe for success for Portland and we’re all over them tonight.
Portland -6 is a bit high, but we are really liking it. The Blazers defense is great, the Blazers fans are loud and we worship at the church of Damian Lillard. Let’s do it.
