The bowl season is going full strength with tons of games today and tomorrow. The big news is that Alabama stomped on Oklahoma and Clemson exposed Notre Dame. These two will meet in the National Championship game once again in what is sure to be a good one. These two teams are just head and shoulders the rest of college football and have been for the past few years.
While it is kind of boring, seeing the same teams again and again, you can’t deny that they are the two very best teams out there and that’s all you can really ask of a National Championship game. Especially when there isn’t a real playoff.
Today the bowl games don’t quite match that level of intensity, but should be good ones nonetheless. I’m especially looking forward to NC State and Texas A&M tonight.
NBA Betting Tips:
Houston Rockets vs. Memphis Grizzlies: When I’m wrong, I’ll admit it and I was very wrong about the Houston Rockets. I felt like they just didn’t have it this year and that the injury to Chris Paul would make things really difficult for them going forward. Instead, they are 9-1 over their past ten and James Harden is looking like an MVP candidate once again.
This team plays the Memphis Grizzlies at home tonight as a -5 favorite. That line is pretty nice, honestly, but what I am really looking at is the total in this game. It is only set at 200. The Rockets have only played one game in their past ten that missed that number and it was a total of 199. I’m feeling pretty good about this over.

Boston Celtics vs. San Antonio Spurs: This will be a close one, but I can’t just standby while the Spurs get points at home and not do anything about it. They have been an outstanding home team this year and their team is really starting to come together with the emergence of Bryn Forbes and Jakob Poeltl.
This will be a close one, but the Spurs at home is too good to pass up. Especially with the hot/cold way the Celtics have been playing.
College Football Betting Tips:
Northwestern vs. Utah: This should be a fun game between two overachieving teams. What is interesting to me about this one is the lack of line movement. Utah opened at -7 and despite a majority of the money coming in on Northwestern, the line has stayed right around -7.
I’m really liking the Utah defense in this match-up, they finished 1st in the nation in red zone scoring at just 63% and the Wildcats had trouble there. This feels like a line that isn’t moving for a reason and Utah is a great play.
Texas A&M vs. NC State: I said I was excited about this one and the reason is simple: offense! Texas A&M has put up 153 points over their last three games and I see no sign of that stopping here. The NC State offense should be able to keep up behind QB Ryan Finley and Reggie Gallaspy, the explosive running back. I don’t see either team doing much defense in this one and the points coming fast and furiously.
