The Golden State Warriors currently sit at 22-0 and look to continue their historic start to the season tonight against the Indiana Pacers. This is the fifth game of an eight game road trip for them, their toughest of the season, and a loss could be imminent. The Pacers (or the Celtics Friday or the Bucks on Saturday) aren’t the best or most talented teams, but they have just enough firepower to catch them on a bad night. These guys are only human and being away from your bed and your family for two weeks is hard for anyone. Tonight’s game will be especially fun to watch as the Pacers do a poor man’s version of the Warriors offense. Can they beat them at their own game? Stay tuned.
There is also some good NHL action tonight highlighted by the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators hitting the ice. This has turned into a pretty good rivalry over the past couple of years with the Predators constantly fighting to break on through to the NHL’s elite. Of course, from the Blackhawks perspective this is more of a big brother type of relationship. Plus, a big Capitals-Red Wings match-up between two of the top seeds in the East. Tonight should be a good one.
NBA Betting Tips:
Slowly, but surely the Rockets are starting to put it together. They’ve won three straight and five of their past six games and have crawled back into the Western Conference playoff picture. Someone in that locker room must’ve looked at the standings and realized they need to start playing harder. Tonight should continue their winning ways as they face the lowly Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are 5-15 this season and are heading to the lottery. (Too bad their pick goes to the Celtics.) The winning ways should continue tonight for the Rockets -4.
After a red hot November, the Pacers have struggled against West opponents and lost their last two. They won’t get an easy break tonight as the Warriors come to town. While I love Frank Vogel’s coaching and he could come up with some sort of game plan to stop the Warriors, I don’t think they have the personnel for it. A big thing about the Warriors success is that they not only shoot the lights out from three, but they hold their opponents to 30% from three. The Pacers shoot at a pace close to them, 40% from three, but if their defense is able to lock them down like they’ve locked everyone else down then we are looking at 23-0. I have to go with Warriors -6. Let’s go for history.
NHL Betting Tips:
Only four points separate the Red Wings and Capitals in the Eastern Conference standings, but the Capitals are a far better team and should widen that gap tonight. The Wings are basically averaging a tie this season with 2.6 goals allowed per game and 2.6 goals scored per game. That’s not great. The Capitals 2.2 allowed and 3.2 scored is great. I expect the Capitals to win this one in a high scoring, over 5 goals game.
Seven of the past eight games between the Blackhawks and Predators have gone over the posted total. The one under game featured five goals with a total of 5.5. That is a trend that is hard to ignore with tonight’s total set at five. These games are always good and tonight should be no different. We’re taking over 5 goals as the rivalry continues.
College Basketball Betting Tips:
While only 6-2, Marquette has been a scoring machine thus far this season. Their 81.8 points per game is good for 57th in Division-1 and they will likely pile on the points tonight against San Jose State. The Golden Eagles are 17.5 point favorites tonight which is a big number. Their definitely going to win this one, but it could be closer than that. Something like 85-72. That means they won’t cover, but it does put the total over 150.5.
