Is Rory McIlroy ever going to win again? It seems like forever since he was at the top of his game. Going into the DP World Championships in Dubai he’s got a chance – hell more than a chance. His record here is fantastic.
In 6 events he has 5 Top 5 finishes, won it in2 012 and came 2nd in 2014 to Henrik Stenson – who won it for the 2nd time in a row.
This is really quite a thrilling championship and one we are looking forward to big itme.

It’s so so so very tight. Let’s get to the betting tips:
DP World Championships Betting Tip #1: Rory McIlroy
We are not convinced on Rorys form – but this is a tournament and course he absolutely kills at. His form here has been exceptional.
Of course the last few weeks have been really brutal for Rory. His last PGA event was a 26th place in the Frys.com Open. In the WGC HSBC Champions he came tied for 11th and couldn’t have the spectacular round that was needed. A par round didn’t help either.
However this is a big, big tournament for Rory and he showed some decent form at the Turkish Airlines Open. Honestly it’s all about consistency which he is lacking at the moment but his familiarity on this course is solid and something we can’t ignore.
We’re going to risk a full unit on Rory taking this one home. You may wish to do just half a unit.
DP World Championships Betting Tip #2: Matthew Fitzpatrick
He’s never played on this course before, but we feel Fitzpatricks driving ability and his current form is enough to justify a quarter unit bet.
Fitzpatrick is coming into this on the back of some solid form. Just over a month ago he was the winner of the British Masters – he had a huge 64 1st round and managed to stay under par the rest. He also came 7th at the WGC event and tied for 3rd at the UBS Hong Kong Open.
It’s going to be a tough one for him but we feel he is worth betting at least a quarter unit. No more than that though.
DP World Championship Betting Tip #3: Danny Willett
This is one we’re betting not on course form – considering how poor he has been here – nor on current form but more motivation.
Willett is battling with Rory for the European Tour title, and it’s very very close. For him to win it it’s very simple: he has to finish 56th – not tied – or higher, and also be better than Rory.
Rory is going to be right up there and Willett is going to be incredibly motivated. We’re up for betting a quarter unit on him stepping up his game.
Finally bet on Branden Grace at 22/1. Another small one – he hits a good few metrics and should hopefully get in the top 5.
