England and Panama play their 2nd games of the 2018 World Cup on Sunday, June 24th kicking off the day. The day prior will see the other two Group G participants face off as Belgium take on Tunisia.
Depending on how things go in that one, England could be going into this one knowing a win equals qualification.
England already have a win after defeating Tunisia 2-1. England opened up the game well looking absolutely lethal, but a Tunisian goal took the wind out of their sails somewhat. They then struggled to break down the Tunisia defense who just sat deeper and deeper.
Harry Kane scored in injury time however to give them the all important win.
For Panama just holding Belgium to 0-0 over one half should be considered a success. Hell they even had a couple of chances. Despite that they got thumped 3-0 and it could have been much more.
Hard to expect much from them in this one.

England Analysis:
The game against Tunisia was an interesting one and it showed why I had fears over England progressing – they just don’t have anywhere near the creativity necessary. Tunisia weren’t great yet England struggled a fair bit to unlock them. They have the pacy people for the counter attacks but that won’t really work against Tunisia and it won’t factor in against Panama much I’m sure.
Despite that England still performed well and deserved their win. Panama won’t be able to stop them and even though they can’t really up the creativity, they’ll still be able to create some chances and with Harry Kane in there you’ve got to think they’ll convert them. Tough to see if anyone else will do it as the finishing etc by the rest was brutal.
Their biggest issue is running out of steam. They started fast but started to drop off and it really did look like things were over and done with before Kanes late goal. However they should walk all over Panama.
Panama Analysis:
I was quite impressed with their performance. They went with a 4-1-4-1 and they switched up how they cleared the ball or how they played it out. They did well against Belgium for sure.
Defensively they did a good enough job and it’s the type of strategy that can frustrate a lot of teams. It didn’t frustrate Belgium though who were patient enough.
While theoretically Panama should come out for a win I expect they’ll just try and grind out a point and not do anything too embarassing. Unfortunately when going up against someone like Harry Kane that’s easier said than done.
England vs Panama Betting Tips:
I’m going with a 1u bet on Harry Kane to score at least two goals. I feel the value is nice for that one and Englands other players have struggled to finish. You can bet that at https://www.Bovada.lv.
