Group G in the World Cup 2018 features Belgium, Panama, Tunisia and England. The latter two face off on the last game of June 18th with England heavy favourites to take out the Tunisians. The group is expected to be contested by England and Belgium.
England qualified from Group F but it wasn’t easy. They required a 95th minute goal against Slovakia for example, and were the jammiest people in the world not to lose at Hampden. They had to come from behind at home to Slovakia, needed a 94th minute goal from Harry Kane to beat Slovenia and then a penalty was all that separated them and Lithuania.
On paper, England are similar to Belgium in that they are an excellent team and have a fantastic goalscorer in Harry Kane. On the big stage they’ve disappointed many times and you have to wonder if that will happen again here.
Tunisia qualified from the CAF Third Round by winning their group. Their group consisted of DR Congo, Libya and Guinea. In the run up to the World Cup they’ve had some impressive friendly results including a 1-0 loss to Spain, and 2-2 draws with Portugal and Turkey.

England Analysis:
Tactically, I’m not that impressed with England. One thing they often fail at is their ability to really unlock a defense and if anything I feel they’ve got worse as time has went on.
Southgate likes a three man defense and that has its issues against top opposition. Whoever starts in goal for the team there’s going to be issues as well. I mean obviously they have some incredible players as well.
However I must admit this is one big tournament where my expectations for England are quite low the more I look at them. They didn’t really sell me on them too much in qualifying and I think they’ll rely on a lot of luck.
Tunisia Analysis:
The injury to Youssef Msanki is brutal and that’s going to cause issues for them. I don’t know if they have the creativity. Which really sucks because they’ve got a great striker in Wahbi Khazri and he was great at Rennes during the season.
Khaoui could be great for them in midfield. He looked damn good at Troyes and deserved the call up.
Can’t see Tunisia doing much damage in the tournament.
England vs Tunisia Betting Tips:
I don’t think we’ll see anything too mind blowing from England. They’ll be happy to just get the win and then sit back. I don’t know if they have anything to fear defensively. Different bet this time – I’m going to bet Harry Kane to score anytime at 1.83 odds. Just 1u on that one.
