So I covered the La Liga on January 3rd, and I was tempted to cover it for January 4th but man just too many heavy favourites there.
I might cover the games there January 5th when it is more balanced we’ll see. Not going to cover the FA Cup. Bloody hate cup competitions in terms of betting honestly.
Looking through the leagues, we’ve got a full card in England League 2 so let’s have a gander at that league shall we?
At the top of League 2, after 23-25 games played, Swindon and Exeter are looking in good shape. The league is still fairly spread out though and only 9 points separate the bottom promotion playoff spot from 15th place.
At the bottom of the league Stevenage are battling with Morecambe not to go down. Macclesfield are also in that battle but Carlisle and up all seem to be safe although of course it’s early days.
Let’s get to it:
Swindon vs Bradford Betting Tips:
Bradford have the best home record in the league. Alas they are away here against league leaders Swindon Town.
Bradford come in on the back of a 7 match unbeaten run. Swindon meanwhile have won their last 5 at home.
It should be a competitive game. Bradford have the 2nd best defensive record in the league while Swindon have the 2nd best offensive one. Swindon are more defensively sound at home as is standard although offensively are actually better on the road.
One interesting factor is Eoin Doyle. He is an absolute goal machine and plays for Swindon but he is on loan from Bradford, and will be ineligible to play.
Considering he has netted over half of Swindons goals this season that’s a big loss.
I think Bradford might just pip this one here. Swindon have a fair amount of injuries too and I initially went into this one thinking the draw however I think we might just see a big upset.

Stevenage vs Colchester Betting Tips:
Always love betting a hot team and I’ll back Colchester here against bottom club Stevenage.
I feel bad for Stevanage as their main issue is they can’t win games. 2 wins, 11 draws and 11 losses. So actually above a .500 record in that sense. So many of their games have been close too.
They struggle to score though. They had a run of 0-0 draws like 3 in a row. They actually aren’t too shabby at home but I like this Colchester run right now.
When you look back at the run there is impressive results in there. 2-0 down only to come back and draw against Scunthorpe. Big wins. Small wins. Hard earned draws. A little bit of everything really.
They come into this without having lost in 10 matches and I like them to continue that as they battle for an automatic promotion spot. Just one of those games that should be a must win. Dean Gerken is an excellent keeper and Colchester are excellent on attack and should secure the win here.
