Quite the last 16 hours in football!
Mauricio Pochettino sacked at Spurs and then Jose Mourinho is right in there. Amazing scenes.
I’ve said it before on here but I’m always a fan of managers and how much of an impact they can make. I was disappointed in Jose Mourinho at Man Utd but in reflection that team has some serious, serious issues.
I’ve read a lot about it and how Fergie left them and it’s been interesting. I’m a Mourinho fan, and I must admit I am hoping that was just a blip and he is able to turn things around for Spurs.
Should be fun. Going to be weird cheering a bit for Spurs these days. Looking forward to getting up early Saturday morning.
With the success last time I thought I would tackle English League one again so let’s get to it:
Wimbledon vs Gillingham Betting Tips:
Wimbledon are currently 20th in the league while Gillingham are 14th. A decent gap in points between the teams at 7.
Wimbledon are struggling. They lost to Blackpool last week as I predicted. However they still are able to battle it out at home. They got a 1-1 draw last time against Lincoln and despite Lincoln being in 17th they have actually been putting in good performances.
Wimbledon are a fairly solid home team with wins over Portsmouth and Rochdale.
Gillingham are inconsistent. They can’t seem to get a run going. Their away performances have been solid though with only 2 losses in 8 games. They know how to scrape a point away and I see that continuing here.
If you look at xG Gillingham have been overachieveing a bit this season while hilariously so have Wimbledon even though they are in a low spot. Anyway I just think these two teams cancel each other out. In saying that I wouldn’t be surprised at a Gillingham win as they are the better team.

Peterborough vs Burton Albion Betting Tips:
Peterborough will be glad to get back to home soil after a great unbeaten streak was cracked with 2 losses away at Blackpool and Shrewsbury.
They have dropped down the table and find themselves in 4th place now. Now they host Burton Albion who have a 5-5-4 record for the season.
Thing is I don’t think Peterborough will be magically fixed by returning home, where they drew with Coventry last time out. They’ve been overperforming all season thanks to some excellent finishers of the ball but Burton Albion have a solid defense. Statistically they have a defense similar to Shrewsbury who just held Peterborough goalless last time out.
Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Burton win this game but the draw is probably the safer play. And if Peterborough bounce back then props to them.
