It’s a fairly quiet Saturday in the EPL with only three games taking place at 3pm.
We have the big Man Utd vs Man City game taking place in the morning, and then Brighton vs Newcastle late in the afternoon.
Quick note that I see value in betting Southampton today. 1.95 odds is a great price as they have picked up some form. Aston Villa are struggling big time right now and leaking in the goals. Broja has passed his fitness test and will be playing today. Villa will be without Konsa and a few others so I’d advise a play on Southampton.
As for Saturdays games:
Man Utd vs Man City: Man Utd come in after a surprising 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. Man City will look to bounce back after that I’m good with betting Man City to win at 1.70.
Brentford vs Norwich: Two dire teams right now. Brentford will look to get back in form against bottom team Norwich. The odds seem spot on here. Bit tempted to take the draw but I don’t think there is enough value in it. Brentford should get the win.
Chelsea vs Burnley: Despite being on just 7 points, you can’t write off Burnley. They have pulled out some solid results lately and have did a decent job at times getting on the scoresheet. I think they can get a cheeky goal despite Chelseas defensive abilities. I was going to bet both teams to score, but going to go for a bigger value bet on Chelsea to win & Both Teams To Score at 3.25 odds.
Crystal Palace vs Wolves: This one is too tough to call. One where I generally would blindly back the draw. Unfortunately at 3.20 odds, not enough value for me there.
Brighton vs Newcastle: Winless in five games, Brighton are expected to pile on the misery for Newcastle. It does seem a good spot and they have decent home form. Too heavily favoured for me.
EPL Daily Fantasy:
For all the new readers from BetSoccer – each week, myself and my friend Fraser do daily fantasy EPL and cover the 3pm games. We both make 4 picks each and alternate the goalie/utility player each week.
Now I wouldn’t be blindly following us – we have only cashed in two of the 10 weeks so far! We’ve came incredibly close a few other times, been disastrous other times – but it’s all a lot of fun.
Here are our point tallies each going into this week as it’s fun to track and see who does better:
Graeme: 335
Fraser: 413.29

Graeme’s Fantasy EPL Picks:
G – Eduard Mendy. Didn’t want to pick him as I tip they concede a goal this week. But the only other option was the reserve goalie Fernandez for Brentford. I would only be saying $300 and with him conceding 3 goals last week despite Burnley having a solid defense – it wasn’t worth the risk even if Norwich have the worst xG by far.
D – Sergi Canos. Maybe Brentford to get the clean sheet and he picks up a bonus. Either way he can assist offensively and should be a solid 8 pointer.
M – Christian Norgaard. Doesn’t contribute a lot offensively but a solid double points player at the moment.
F – Bryan Mbuemo. Should be back and good consistent with the points.
Fraser’s Fantasy EPL Picks:
D – Marco Alonso. Chelsea are most likely to keep a clean sheet and Alonso is a threat at the other end of the pitch too. $6,600 for an average of 17.5 PPG is good value too
M – Conor Gallagher. Very much in form this season, goals and assists from midfield. Was linked with an England call up in midweek, hopefully he wants to prove a point to Gareth Southgate
F – Teemu Pukki. Controversial pick here, but Norwich need to starting picking up points and Pukki needs to start scoring some goals. At home to a newly promoted team is the perfect time to start
UTIL – Michael Olise. What a past couple of games he has had. Came on as a sub v Arsenal and set up a goal within 2 minutes, hit 6 crosses v Newcastle and followed that up with an assist for Conor Gallagher against Man City. Surely has to start here
