Unfortunately, my Euro 2024 betting got off to an extremely easy winning start, as Germany absolutely battered us and my Germany -1 play was up by the end of the first half.
It was a humiliating victory for Scotland. In saying that, Germany looked absolutely fantastic I thought. A real well-oiled machine. As odd as it sounds, the biggest concern for Germany is simply overconfidence. I can see them walking the group stages, and when they get to tougher opposition they may not be too well prepared.
So a winning start. Let’s see if we can continue that. And just a note going forward tips should be the morning before. I was up until 3am working on stuff related to the Euros last night, then going out for the Scotland game today it didn’t leave me much time.
Also how nice was it for Fullkrug to come off the bench and score? Have him in the top team goalscorer so that was huge.
Hungary vs Switzerland Betting Tips:
Hungary qualified with an unbeaten record. Friendly results were pretty solid too. Switzerland struggled a fair bit in qualifying with 4 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss. The Swiss are pretty decent favourites for this one at about 2.20 odds.
Switzerland have went with a variety of different tactics so it’s tough to guess how they will line up. We’ll probably see a base 4-3-3 though. They like to play a possession game but they lack that finishing bite.
They have some real defensive frailties so Sommer is going to have to come up big.
Hungary I expect will go with a formation utilizing wing-backs. Switzerland have shown weakness on the wings but that will be less of a factor if that’s the case. They also like to play a possession game. It’s a pity most sportsbooks don’t have a “over/under team passes” option as I can see a fair amount of them here.
Results wise, I actually think a draw is the more likely result between the two. I could see this being a stalemate. But I’m actually going with Over 3.5 Cards at 1.80 odds in the match.
Reason for that is both teams I expect to be battling for possession so we see a fair amount of tackles. During qualification, both teams racked up enough yellows to make this look likely. And the referee in the Scotland game – while I wouldn’t call him card happy – he wasn’t messing about with issuing cards, and I could see that continue to be a trend from the officials.
Spain vs Croatia Betting Tips:
Spain came top of Group A. 25 goals in 8 games. A fairly tough group. They battered Northern Ireland and Andorra in recent friendlies.
Croatia had a tougher time getting here with 5 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. Just 13 goals in 8 games as well. They’ve had more solid performances in friendlies though.
Spain are favourites but it’s not overwhelming as they are 1.90 odds.

Italy vs Albania Betting Tips:
Italy stumbled in here thanks to their head to head points against Ukraine, and were a bit fortunate to do so. Albania were superb in winning Group E.
So much depends on how Albania approach this match. Hopefully they stick with the attacking philosophy they have – but you never know. We see teams in a battle like this drop what works to attempt to park the bus.
Tactics wise, Italy we have no clue how they will line up and that makes things quite tricky. This is one team I am really looking forward to watch, so I can give them a full reassessment for the future.
