It was probably the best qualifying of the year in the Formula 1 this week at Silverstone.
The hero of course was Latifi. My god to make Q3 what a legend he is.
Max was also on fire. That spin he took in Q3 almost looked like it was planned, that was how good he recovered.
After a lot of hype, a bit disappointing from Lewis. He’s moved out to 17.00 odds to win.
This is a very open race. Sainz getting pole is great for him, but I cannot see him winning this one.
Max is practically unstoppable. Lewis Hamilton is of course so damn good at Silverstone. Leclerc is also super good here.
Here is what I am going with:
1u on race leader after 5 laps to be Max Verstappen @ 2.10 odds.
Max is an absolute beast. We know that. He’s on another level this year. But he hasn’t had the greatest run at Silverstone.
I don’t know if he can win the race, and the 1.66 odds are very offputting anyway. I wouldn’t touch that. But we have seen some great fast starts from him.
Initially, I was looking at backing him to be race leader after 1 lap but that one is a bit more of a gamble. I’m going to go with him taking the early lead here.
0.5u on Lewis Hamilton to make the podium at 3.50 odds
While qualifying didn’t go as well for Lewis as he would have liked, it’s just the Red Bulls and Ferrari’s ahead of him. Haha listen to me. “Just” the Red Bulls and Ferrari’s. Like it’s nothing.
Lewis has nothing to lose on this race while the other four guys are all fighting for the championship. WIth his history here he’s going to be aggressive and pushing for it. On top of that, all it takes is one issue for anyone in the top 4, and he can get in there.
0.5u on both Mercedes to make the Top 6 at 1.83 odds.
Russell made a mistake on his final lap that saw him qualify 8th. It’s a long race and I think he should be able to get into that Top 6 no problem. I have the bet on Hamilton and I didn’t want to double dip too much so I lowered the Hamilton one to 0.5u and split it over these two.
