Well unfortunately it was pretty much a break even day yesterday, as Roma got absolutely thumped by Sassuolo. That was quite the exciting game too as Sassuolo somehow got a 3 goal lead. Roma then brought it back to 3-2 despite being down to 10 man alas Boga scored his first of the game shortly after and that was it for this one.
There’s not really too much football taking place on Monday that is worth tipping, so I’ll turn my attention to Tuesday.
Some cup football on the go so we’ll look at Ligue 1 in France instead, where there are two close games taking place. Oh and then a PSG game.
Let’s get to it:
Lille vs Rennes Betting Tips:
A battle between two of the top teams. Lille are currently in 4th place while Rennes are in 3rd place albeit 6 points ahead of Rennes.
With the top 3 getting those Champions League spots, this is a massive game for Lille. A true six pointer.
However a lot of it is their own doing. They had that 5-1 thrashing away to Monaco then lost to of all teams – Dijon. They returned home where they have an excellent record only to lose to PSG.
They were finally able to turn it around with a scrappy game against Strasbourg. They were down 1-0 but pulled it back and won thanks to an 80th minute penalty.
Then you have Rennes. Down 1-0 then 2-1, they looked like they were losing against Nantes before a 95th minute goal AND a 97th minute goal to give them the home win.
Crazy stuff.
Based on the way both teams finished their last games, I like both teams to come out here looking to strike first blood. I can’t see this being goalless and with all the stakes on this game, I think both will be fighting hard. If one goes down, the other will push back hard.
I lean Rennes to win here but I’ll go with BTTS. Lille are a pretty damn good home team.

Monaco vs Angers Betting Tips:
We go from the top of the table to this mid-table clash.
Monaco are 13th in the league while Angers are 10th. Just a point separates both teams. Either could easily move into that 4th spot with just a couple of wins or at least increase their chances of some form of European football.
Angers had a little unbeaten run snapped by Reims who beat them 4-1.
Monaco have been on a bad run lately. They lost 4-1 to PSG to kill their own unbeaten streak and have went off the rails with 3-1 losses to Strasbourgh and Nimes.
Worringly is seeing the way their xG has dropped the past few games.
These two played just 6 weeks ago and they drew 0-0 at Angers.
I like Monaco to get back on track here. xPTS wise they are much better than where they currently stand and there will be a lot of focus on this game as the perfect one to right the ship. They’re an excellent home team and I like them to get back on the winning track here.
