The Magic were our pick last night and while that wasn’t a very sexy pick, it was most definitely the best pick. They won by the biggest margin of the night as they won 118-88. They came out to a 39-17 lead in the first quarter (on the road) and never looked back. Nikola Vu?evi? had the best game with 25 points and 17 rebounds. The game also saw Aaron Gordon, Jonathan Isaac, and Evan Fournier all scored 20 or more points. I really wonder if sitting might be the best thing for Anthony Davis as he finished this game with just three points and six rebounds in 24 minutes. What’s the point, you know?
Graeme mentioned the Lakers last night as a possibility, but he chose to wait and see. That turned out to be a good idea as they lost outright to the Hawks. LeBron James had an outstanding game with 28 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 assists in 43 minutes. For him to play that kind of minutes and lose, to a lottery team, is just shocking to see. I feel bad for Luke Walton who will almost surely be fired before next season because of this lousy roster.
A big slate tonight with 11 games with a couple of big ESPN games with the Rockets and Wolves, and the Warriors and Blazers.
Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks Betting Tips:
The Mavericks are one of the best home teams in the league this season with a 20-8 record against the spread and they are 10-3 against the spread in games where the spread is six points or less. The trades weakened them a bit this season, but Luka Doncic has been gaining confidence throughout the season and I like him in this match-up.
Miami was also weakened at the deadline and they are in the midst of a six game road trip. This is game five and they’ve lost the past three games. This is definitely a team in transition and they’ve slipped out of the playoff picture, down to 9th. I’m having a hard time seeing them get back in that race and I am having a hard time seeing them win here today.

Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers Betting Tips:
The Blazers are a great home team, but the book on them is that they struggle against good teams and the numbers play this out. They are 10-14 against the spread (9-15 straight up) as an underdog on the year and this is the best team in the NBA.
The Warriors are hot right now. They are on a 16-1 run right now and everyone is cooking. Stephen Curry is driving his bench crazy, Klay Thompson has been shooting the lights out, and Kevin Durant is still Kevin Durant.
This game has a line of -3 for the Warriors which seems pretty dang low. Yes, they are on the road and they have been a middling ATS team, but this team is just getting it done right now and I don’t think the Blazers will have much of an answer for them here.
