Welcome to the free sports betting tips for February 15th 2016.
This has been the first weekend we’ve had no football to look forward to, or at least on the horizon, but we had some great sport elsewhere. The main story was in the English Premiership, where Arsenal got back into the title hunt with a win over Leicester City. Danny Welbeck’s goal with the last touch of the ball blew everything wide open, and it now looks a three-horse race, with Manchester City losing to Tottenham. In the NBA All-Star game, we saw a record breaking performance by the West side, winning 196-173. Sure, it’s an exhibition game, but who wasn’t blown away by that game? It was a classic All-Star game, and a great way for Kobe to bow out.
So with no Monday Night Football in the NFL or in the English Premiership, that leaves us looking towards the Scottish Premiership with a big Highland derby, and also at the NHL. So let’s get to the free sports betting tips for February 15th, 2015.
SPL Betting Tip
It’s one of the big Highland derbies, if not the biggest, and Inverness Caley Thistle host Aberdeen. It’s going to be a cold, miserable night in Inverness, and the chances are it’s not going to be a pretty game. The signs point to Aberdeen here, who know a loss here will spell an end, realistically, to their title aspirations, as these are the games they need to win to keep the pressure on Celtic. Now, I like an Aberdeen win here, but the price is too skinny to be of an value. They’re odds-on in a derby game on a Monday night – we’ll pass. However, given that conditions are going to be horrible, take under 2.5 goals as the sensible play here.
NHL Betting Tips:
A couple of earlier games today, with the Red Wings taking on the Islanders and the Ducks away to the Flames. There’s no real angle in the Detroit/New York game that makes betting on it worthwhile. The Islanders are plenty short enough, but they should have more than enough. However, we’re going for goals in the day’s other earlier game, and we’ll go over 5.5 goals in the Anaheim/Calgary game as our first NHL selection of the day.
In the later action, take Chicago -1.5 to beat Toronto. The Leafs are truly awful right now, and the Blackhawks are, of course, a much better side. This isn’t the kind of game the Leafs need right now, so confidence isn’t exactly going to be flowing through the team.
And get on Pittsubrgh @ Florida over 5.5 goals as the final selection of the night’s NHL action. Florida are shipping goals right now, but they have a decent enough record against Pittsburgh to suggest they’ll put up a fight here. On paper, this should be high-scoring and tight.
