Welcome to the free sports betting tips for Monday February 20th, 2016.
Usually I’d harp on about both American sport and British sport in my opening to my free betting tips, but you know what, there was only one story in the sporting world over the weekend and that was the mental weekend of FA Cup action we had on Saturday and Sunday. We started with Lincoln City making history by becoming the first non-league side to make it into the last eight of the FA Cup, beating Premiership Burnley with a last-minute goal. We also had Milwall beating 2015/’16 Premiership champions Leicester City with another late goal, Huddersfield drew 0-0 with Manchester City and Oxford United almost got a draw with Middlesbrough, but a late goal spared the Premiership side’s blushes. But that could all pale into insignificance is Sutton can produce perhaps the biggest shock of all time in the FA Cup if they can knock out Arsenal tonight. It’s a big ask, but if they can, they have a tie against Lincoln for a berth in the FA Cup semi-finals. It would be amazing scenes.
But maybe not as amazing as Graeme’s golf tips. I’ll start off by saying he got Dustin Johnson to win the Genesis Open, and Johnson not only won it, but he blitzed the field, comfortably winning by five strokes. But you’re thinking, “Sure, but he was one of the favourites, so it’s not a red hot tip.” Well, maybe not, but it was a winner, but not as big a winner as his selection of Brett Rumford to win the Super Six tournament in Perth. It was a huge win for the Aussie, and it was a huge win for all of us in the SBT offices.
Now, let’s get onto the free sports betting tips for February 20th, 2017.
Sutton vs Arsenal Betting Tips
Has there been a bigger game for Sutton? Probably not. This is going to swell the coffers of the club nicely and fans will be harking back to that famous win over Coventry City in this very competition, when Coventry were a force to be reckoned with. But Coventry are not the multi-millionaires of Arsenal, that’s for sure. But what chance do Sutton have to beat Arsenal? Well, most of the players coming from the Emirates will not be used to the facilities on offer at Sutton, with the changing rooms suitably sparse, even for the home side. So that might just put the wind up the Gunners. Then we have the artificial 3G surface, which could be a real leveller, as the home side are familiar with it, while Arsenal are used to lush grass surfaces to ping the ball about on. Plus, the Arsenal side might just be a bit weaker than normal, although that’s yet to be seen.
But does that mean Sutton can overcome 28/1 odds? As much as I hope so, I can’t see it happening. Would Sutton beat Arsenal more than one time in 29 matches? Probably not. Could they get a draw more than one time out of 13? Maybe, just maybe, but again I can’t see it happening. But then do you want to back Arsenal at 1/8? Of course not! Where does that leave us? Well, we know there will be goals – it’s Arsenal, there’s ALWAYS goals, but just how many will Arsenal get past their non-league opposition? The over 2/5 line is a filthy 4/11, but the over 3.5 looks like great value to me at around. Yes, the surface might not favour Arsenal, but I think they have a point to prove after their thrashing in Munich. So take over 3.5 goals and if you’re feeling brave, over 4.5 might just be in with a good shout too at a very tasty 7/4.
Yes, I’ll be cheering Sutton on tonight, so hopefully they go out there, attack and win 3-2!
