A 1-1 record last night.
In the shock of all shocks, the Knicks beat the Spurs last night. This was the Knicks first home win of 2019. This was just one of those games where the Spurs defense wasn’t there and the Knicks couldn’t miss. Emmanuel Mudiay and Damyean Dotson went 11-for-18 from three and the Knicks won this won handily. I don’t like what I’m seeing with the Spurs right now and this thing could go sideways before the season is done. I’m putting this one on them and will continue to go against the Knicks when the time is right.
It was an easy win in the Nuggets game. We laid some big points here, but they got it done at home as they usually do. Denver won every quarter and to explain what kind of game this was I’ll just give one stat: only one player (Paul Millsap) played over thirty minutes in this game. This one was never in doubt. Nikola Jokic had 22 points and 16 rebounds in just 28 minutes.
Back to a full slate tonight and there are a couple of games that look great to me. Let’s get into them.
Indiana Pacers vs. Detroit Pistons Betting Tips:
The Pacers are 8-1 over their past nine games, but for some reason they are an underdog on the road against the Pistons here. I don’t get it. Myles Turner is listed questionable for this one which is good for the Andre Drummond and the Pistons, but… he’s still Andre Drummond. This Pistons team is kind of one-dimensional in my opinion and the Pacers defense is one of the tops in the league. Yes, they have some injuries but they play a team defense without a lot of real weak points.
Thaddeus Young is coming off a good game and Domantas Sabonis is always a threat, I think those two will match up nicely with Drummond and Blake Griffin in this one. Beyond that, I like every part of the Pacers more than the Pistons. Even with the injuries. Take the points and the better team.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Clippers Betting Tips:
The Mavericks gave up a lot to get Kristaps Porzingis and he’s yet to play a minute for them. Throw in the fact that Luka Doncic is listed as questionable for this one and this team just doesn’t have a lot of firepower. That trade was good for their long term and protecting Doncic is really good for their long term, but for tonight? They don’t have much to work with. A lot of people forget the J.J. Barea injury that messed up their bench chemistry and they’ve not been the same since.
We went against the Clippers last night and they looked terrible, which makes them feel like a nice play here at home tonight. This team is still in a playoff race and they have more weapons in their arsenal than the Mavs here. They are at home and this line is reasonable.
