The Milwaukee Bucks are our kryptonite. No matter the game, no matter the pick. Things go weird and when we pick a game involving them, things go wrong. Ugh.
Last night was a classic case of this. The Bucks had a HUGE lead at the half of 17 points, but then a 38-19 third quarter happened. The Bucks stormed back to force overtime and then in overtime had the ball with a chance to force double overtime, but Giannis Antetokounmpo missed the shot and the Pelicans won. The defense looked great in the first half, but that’s about it. I am done with this team.
We also had the Cavs over the Spurs and I don’t even know quite what to say here. In LeBron James career there has never been a game where the other four starters scored less points than that one. In his entire career. The starters played 64 minutes, shot 6 for 28 from the field and only managed 14 points and one assist (stat via Nick Wright). That is terrible and seems like more of an outlier than anything.
Detroit Pistons vs. Toronto Raptors Betting Tips:
We’ve covered the Pistons at length on this site and they are in their toughest stretch of the season right now. They are a very thin team and that should really show itself against the Raptors tonight who are the league’s deepest team as well as one of the best home teams.
I hate laying this many points, but this game is one that I just love. The Raptors -10 should dominate and look for a big game from Kyle Lowry who has no one on the other side who can keep up with him.
Indiana Pacers vs. Detroit Pistons Betting Tips:
The Pacers have been one of the best against the spread teams in the NBA this season, but they are just one of those teams that you always overlook on the schedule. Not tonight. They play the Mavericks who we think are done trying to win for the season and they have a nice line. Victor Oladipo has been the breakout star of the season and Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner look like they should be their frontcourt for a long time to come. This is a fun team and the Pacers -3.5 should easily cover tonight.
Houston Rockets vs. Utah Jazz Betting Tips:
We know about the Jazz defense, but where has the offense been as of late? Since the All-Star break they have scored 81 and 97 when the match-ups were set for them to do better than that. I just don’t like the way they’ve looked and they’ve had to scrap since the break. Scrapping works against the Mavericks, but it doesn’t work against the Rockets.
The Rockets record with Chris Paul, James Harden and Clint Capela in the lineup is amazing this year and those three will play tonight. The Rockets have been the best team in the league this season and you don’t see them giving up this small amount of points often. Our system loves the Rockets -2.5 tonight.
